I don't think it necessarily has to sell the most to be the most succesful (which LoS supposedly is according to Cox). For example, CoD and LoI might have sold more, but it's possible they made less of a profit.

And other things might also make a game successful like great reviews.
But Cox only relies on the sales figures.

Can't we just have em on consoles again I almost forgot how awesome a 2d cv game is on there not kidding I popped in Sotn and cv chronicles and man we need cv back on there again and not something cv:hd or a short yet sweet title like rebirth but a full blown title. I love handhelds but man 2d, 2.5d on  a tv I feel that you cannot beat.

Yes, I agree with you, but it seems unlikely Konami will do that, so, I'll be happy if they just give me my Castlevania, even if it's portable or downloadable.
But of course, a full-new, 2D sprite-based, massive, 30 hours long, retail MetroidVania for PS4 with the old team back would be my dreamed scenario.

If true, all three DS titles vastly outsold it, as they all averaged 300,000 instead of 30,000.

Here are the NPD and known numbers for the Castlevania LoS games

Lords of Shadow - Shipped 1 million. Now, for sales numbers, NPD - >140k and < 225k. PAL - UK launch around 20k, don't know the other territories. Basically, lot's of stock out there, totally overshipped.
Lords of Shadow MoF - We don't know ship numbers. PAL - Debuted at 39. NPD - ~30k

DS games

DoS: NPD ~ 300k
PoR: NPD ~ 150k
OoE: NPD: in line with other DS games, no numbers found.

He lied about Alucard not being Trevor and even blocked Nagumo when he joke about that in Twitter. Also he promised 3 different playable characters, not 3 characters that plays almost the same way.

i make joke of igarashi and the leader ban me 1 week, and here the peoples insuld to mercurysteam and the nothing happen, its not fair this happen, i make a joke, here they laugh to them in the serious but is ok.
mercury steam is not lie, they have the numbers, they sayed, is the true, lords of shadows is the more selled of the history, mirror of fate is not good sell because fanboys hate mercurysteam and bad publicity, they win them objetive, to make excelent game of mercurysteam to sell bad and laugh to it.

I reckon they were well into developing the sequel(s) right after LOS1 went gold given that Araujo outted the sequels existence days after the game came out. LOS2 and Mirror of Fate were gonna happen no matter how the game sold, which is why I wouldn't be shocked if Konami continued the LOS saga after LOS2's supposed conclusion without Mercurysteam.

As for why they would lie about well.... it's Konami and their punch bowl is seriously spiked.

It shipped 1 million, Konami is happy because shipped for them = sales.

The game didn't really SOLD 1m to consumers, that's the difference.
