I was thinking; what was the most infamous Castlevania game that can be easily playable and enjoyable with a remake?
other than Order of shadows, Haunted Castle came to mind.

I was thinking a Hard Corps: Uprising approach with the hires and whatnot.

any thoughts/ideas?

I'd sure love that!

Well aside from a graphical and musical update what the game really needs is more continues and more lives. Oh what the heck, maybe even a few more stages just to expand the game somewhat so it's not too short.

adventure rebirth wasn't much longer if I recall, but it had sub bosses, so even if the levels had been extended in that same fashion with a weaker mini boss to section it up it might be ok too

Adventure ReBirth had six stages which were segregated by half boss battles, but the game was still longer then it's original Gameboy counterpart which only had four stages. I think Haunted Castle could use a couple of extra stages just to lengthen the game somewhat but not draw it out too much.

In my opinion, Adventure Rebirth and Adventure are two different games.
Not that is a bad thing, anyway.
