Question about Elizabeth Bartley

I wondered about this for a while. Elizabeth Bartley is Dracula's niece. Therefore, this suggests that Dracula has a sibling, yes? Has such a character been introduced? This character could be used in the storyline in the earlier games (timeline-wise). Your opinions?

The character has never been introduced, no.  As far as ideas for him/her, it could have been before he became a vampire and by some odd means, his niece (maybe this is a great-grand niece or something) ended up becoming a vampire too.

Or he attacked his family and she was the only one that actually became a vampire instead of outright dying.

Who knows? lol.

I was suppose to say something profound here. I don't 'do' profound so much as ramble so...whatever. Here lies text. Congratulations for reading it.  You were as bored as I am. Seriously, stop reading, you can't be that bored.  Still here? Really?  You officially are my new favorite person and now are owed one internet cookie. Don't eat it though, it gives you bad gas.

I seem to remember Vlad had a brother. But of course, when Iga retconned the "Dracula is Vlad Tepes" thing some games tried to use and went with cva's and Rondo's "Drac is an old wizard from way before vlad" that stopped counting.

Mathias could have a brother too though. Just like there are all those weak non-direct descendant Belmonts who die if they try to use the whip, there could be something like that with Mathias too. And Bartley (Bathory really. Damn japanese don't even check up their facts and spelling when making games) was probably a descendant of that other family branch.

I guess she, knowing vampirism would preserve her eternal youth got Drac or someone else turn her into one of them. Then bathing in blood of young virgins would really be more meaningful and her title of blood countess more emphasized.

Though unlikely, maybe she was actually blood related to Lisa. Either way, it would be cool to see Alucard kick his cousin's ass.

Vlad had two brothers - his older brother Mircea (who was assassinated alongside Vlad's father in 1447; Mircea was buried alive) and his younger brother Radu (who was a commander in the Ottoman Sultan's forces).

Radu had a daughter (who obviously was Dracula's niece) but I can't find any clear connection to the Bathory line.

Bathory wasn't really Dracula's neice.  That part was made up for the CV universe.

The Dracula from the Castlevania universe is different than the real Vlad Tepes Dracula.

Yes, and if IGA's sticking with The Belmont Legacy comics, the Bartleys are just a family of loyal supporters of Dracula. Elizabeth would be among them, of course. Despite many hating the comics, IGA has said that he stands by them as the explaination of the events of "CV Adventure". And who knows, the comic writers admit that they got a lot of source material from IGA regarding the events. Some of that stuff regarding the place of the Bartleys could be IGA's doing.

When did he say this? Could you provide a link?

I forgot the link, but IGA said he's standing by a lot of the non-game CV stories since there is only so much he can do via games(hehe, "so much"). That is, unless IGA plans on retconning the comics with HIS version of the events(Remake of CV Adventure).

I don't recall hearing that those comics are canon.  Are any of their events or characters (introduced in the comics) mentioned on any official timeline that has come out since the comics' release?

I know that. It just would have been interesting if she really was his niece.

It's a point of contention (for me at least).
