Playing Lament of Innocence on the PS3 with the maps off.  It can be a challenge to get through that maze without them.  I guess it's just one way I tend to make a replay more difficult.

I couldn't do anything in a game without maps, my sense of orientation is 0%  :P

I could play AoS without the map. Maybe because I've played it for so many times.

My Dungeon sense is way off. When ever I'm playing LoI or CoD I have to check the map every few rooms just to make sure I'm going in the right direction. It's not too bad in CoD because I can manually orientate the camera, but in LoI where you have no control of the camera then map-checking becomes almost mandatory. The 2D Metroidvanias aren't too difficult to navigate through. But it's habitual of me to bring up the map screen and see what I need to.

I have played so many times each Castlevania game that the only reason i'm going and look the map is only to see if i have left any spot untouched on the map for the percentage completion.

The only game I can do this without missing a single .01% is SOTN. Then again, I've been playing it like twice a year for the last sixteen.  ;D

I couldn't do anything in a game without maps, my sense of orientation is 0%  :P

There should be an award for minimal map-checking, ala Silent Hill Origins.

That'd make a great trophy/achievement.

I can play it without checking maps in SotN but before I venture to the reverse castle I will check my map once to check if I've gone everywhere and broke every wall. But AoS? No way, you can say that I've mastered that game.

When the game is orientated strictly in one direction: ie SotN, 2D Zelda games, etc, I can EASILY navigate the world. When orientation is movable, ie free flowing camera like LoI, CoD, and other 3D games, then forget it. I'll get lost frequently if I don't keep looking at the map. However, the more generic and repetitive the visuals and layout of the rooms are (LoI and CoD unfortunately are VERY) then it becomes impossible for me to navigate.

Hmm, I think I could do that on most of the games.  The only game I'd have a lot of trouble with would be Harmony of Dissonance, and anyone who has played that game knows exactly why that is.

I'm very familiar with LoI's and CoD's maps, as well as SotN's and the DS games.    Aria is pretty easy to navigate.  I'd probably get lost a few times in CotM, but it wouldn't be that big a deal.  But HoD would trip me up completely.

I'd get lost in pretty much any game without map, but I can make it through some 2D games without checking it.
But HoD, I don't believe I could eventually finish it someday without using the map. I'd be lost forever walking around in circles.
