So I opened an account there a couple years ago. I wrote a stupidly huge multi-route fanfic (Terrible Things Happen to Akane) using the Interactive Story thing, and today I just noticed the entire thing was deleted and I can't log into my account anymore because idk I guess I didn't log in often enough and they purged me.

I have the entire thing on backed up on my computer, so I just registered a new account and planned to copy and paste the entire thing back in. But now I see Writing.com has started using a pay wall and there's no way I'm paying $20 a year just to be able to post my awful Mai Otome fanfiction online.

what do?

Post it in a free fanfic site or open a blog. It sounds very cool to be discarded.

Take Lelygax's advice. When a once free site nickle & dimming you for your fan work to be posted then there's no point in giving them something and you getting nothing out of it in return. And since they've previously closed your account then don't even bother with them now.

Use fanfiction.net or pastebin.

There are a few gamebook making websites but I don't know about publishing. I would imagine there are plenty of alternative places to post such a work, like the ones chainsawmidget just mentioned. Just post the alternate routes as different "chapters" in the story. "If you go left, click on Chapter 6 If you decide to run, go to Chapter 26" etc.

Hmm...the problem with FFN is that I'm not sure it allows "Choose Your Own Adventure" type fics. You might wanna try another, though I'm not sure which free site would be good...Archive of Our Own, maybe?

Use fanfiction.net or pastebin.

pastebin has a thing for that?

And yeah, Fanfiction.net is against Choose Your Own Adventure stuff.  As much as some of the schlock on my FF.net page already pushes the envelop, I'd rather not have everything I've ever written get deleted off of another website out of the blue.

Create a new account just for this type of fics then.

Anyone who actually cares can be my proof readers.  I hope I linked everything together correctly when I was transferring it to Word.

Here maybe, but that's only because none of us have deleted your work and thought that the stories are interesting as well as provocative. How is it over at FF.com?

Well I got a decent reader spike during the Friday-Saturday window when I was uploading everything, but then it dropped back to nothing the next day.

And there haven't been any reviews, so.. colossal flop, I guess?  Also, if you go off the chapter breakdown you can see practically no one read anything after the first page.

Shameful display.

Maybe its very sophisticated to their brains? Its not everyone that knows how to play these type of interactive stories, maybe some instructions can help them (this sounds retarded, but I've seen people worse than this, for real)
