Why hasn't Konami done more on Wii Virtual Console? I wanted Bloodlines, and it never appeared. (Contra: Hard Corps never did, either, so maybe it's a Sega Genesis problem?) These are two games I have played so little of due to them being on the wrong system for me during the 90s Console Wars. I can understand why they might skip the divisive Dracula X SNES since they went with Rondo of Blood (though I absolutely love the SNES re-imagining--prefer it, actually--and would welcome it, as well), but Bloodlines holds a fond spot among fans, and it's nowhere in sight.

Inject a Bloodlines ROM in another Genesis Virtual Console game and it should work. I know, its not official, but it will play like a official title (I mean like a 100%).

Totally. Why bother for something they don't give to us if you can reach out and take it for free, especially and no one is hurt?
I like collecting games I love, but I'm all for emulation too.

Yes, also its the same method that they use, but will be lacking a custom banner to this channel like they do and lacking a online very basic manual. The rest is the same (some rare cases make specific games doesnt work because of a special feature. like DK 64 for example. Injection doesnt work for it because of the way they did N64 Virtual Console emulation, not because the ROM)

Unless it's the Virtual Console emulators that fix the flubs and not specialized tweaking, standard emulation doesn't always bring about near-perfect results. Snes9x GX is a really great emulator for the Wii, but every ROM of Donkey Kong Country I've ever tried (save for one of the Japanese ones) messes up some things, like having DK fall way below the treeline in the opening cinematic. The Virtual Console release doesn't have this problem and there's something a lot more authentic feeling about VC releases. Maybe it's just that the emulators are that good and inserting the DKC ROM into a VC WAD will fix the problem, but I'm more inclined to believe that VC games have extra tweaking when needed.

A VC release of Bloodlines would be great. It's a fantastic game and I'll buy any official digital release of the old games to continue showing support. You never know when money going toward these releases could result in something new. Perhaps more sales and interest could pave the way for a Castlevania ReBirth 2.

At this point, I would rather see nintendo do something about the lackluster VC on 3DS. There are some great games there but I want to be able to play SNES, Genesis, GAME BOY ADVANCE (!!!) and other stuff, not just the same old NES games over and over. I'm happy that it has game gear, but so far all the games i've bought were not that great..

But yeah, GBA is coming to Wii U, which is cool and all, but it should definitely be on 3DS too.

GBA is in 3DS already, some people that have brought a 3DS before they firstly lowered the price (a long time ago) received a lot of VC content as a gift, Metroid Fusion and some other GBA titles was amongst them.

So yeah, Nintendo have GBA titles ready for 3DS but refuse to launch them.

If you are going to go to the trouble of softmodding your Wii to play Bloodlines, then just use an emulator instead of injecting it. Less hassle.

Thats true BUT it will not act and play like it would if it was a original VC console this way, while injecting a ROM in a compatible and already existing VC (aka a Genesis game) will.

I personally prefer to play it with a homebrew emulator too and its really much easier, since you dont need to install nothing in your Wii apart from Homebrew Channel and it will be more secure if you're a newbie.

Seeing as how the Wii's Virtual Console is dead, I very much doubt that we'll be seeing anymore Castlevania games on it. Hopefully the Wii U's Virtual Console will get some Castlevania games in the future.

I'm guessing they're saving GBA for the WiiU just to potentially boost sales of the console. Not that the majority of casual gamers buying the WiiU would be THAT interested in old GBA games, do you think? Such things most likely caters to a more niche audience. Dunno.

They should at least release those 10 GBA games from the ambassador programme. I don't think those early adopters would mind now. I'd like me some Fire Emblem for example.

I'm happy with my Ducktales Remastered, but yeah, Wii Virtual Console seems to be going the way of the dodo.
My Wii and Wii-U are my one-stop emulation machines.  Even on Wii-U's vWii (which is softmodded) I don't do as much retrogaming.

Been neglecting my Wii in favor of my Wii-U lately, since they essentially do the same thing now.  I am going to use something to get all my Wii saves on my Wii-U (and no, it won't be that transfer nonsense thing nintendo gave me).

I recently played games as Duck Tales Remastered, Rogue Legacy, The Lecarde Chronicles, Megaman Unlimited, Dragon's Crown...

The best is The Lecarde Chronicles, by far.
Duck Tales is good but has its share of flaws (I'll make a topic about that).
Dragon's Crown is nice, and I got bored by the bad gameplay design of Megaman Unlimited (a game that otherwise would have been great, because they did a great job with sprites, backgrounds and animations, and the robots were creative and nice additions to the MM robots library).

But I have been playing a lot more new games recently.
I used to play a lot of retro games, mostly emulated but also on VC, but all the time in these years current consoles were gaining ground (PS2, Wii, PS3 and now a lot of new PC games, and of course NDS and PSP, and now 3DS, though I'm not playing 3DS lately).
Now I'm tired, eternally walking... forever dying, and never stopping. I feel in sorrow, all I see is white. I’m following a blind way beneath a sad sky.

Especially not me, since Walmart reduced the price on the 3DS a few days before it officially was supposed to be lowered, and I snatched one up and registered it in order to get those free "early supporter" games. ;) They're good emulations, too, so I don't know why Nintendo won't just release them.

Probably not on the Wii but maybe on the Wii U's VC. If SC IV, Rondo, and Bloodlines make it I'll buy one.
