Yeah, I think Castlevania on the NES kind of mirrors the NES Mario trilogy that way. The first one is the most iconic, the second one (both USA and TLL in Mario's case) is influential but the majority of people don't really like it, then the 3rd entry is everything the first one was only with even more content, options, and challenging but tight gameplay. Kind of true for Zelda1/LA/ALttP to, now that I think about it. Though of course ALttP was SNES, and the only other Zelda sidescrollers after LA were the CD-i ones.

I never really thought about that, but that's actually a really good point. But while I do enjoy Castlevania and Dracula's Curse moreso than Simon's Quest, the first SMB was my least favorite of the original Mario trilogy. I liked the Doki Doki Panic modification.

try this.

Oh, thanks. I've been looking for this hack everywhere, since the map was a really nice touch. I've been using the "Redaction" mod, and while a better translation and everything being sped up is nice (day/night transition downed from 10 seconds to 4 seconds), I still have no idea where to go.

Nice to see you back!

Thanks, dude. :)
