Games the should be give a 2nd development

To clarify, these games are usually pretty bad, but potentially very good if the developers gave it more time and thought, generally they are called re-imaginings, but we don't want to change the game drastically, just fix all of its major problems and see to a successful game, much like how Rise of the Planet of the Apes was a remake of the worst of the original trilogy and redeems it rather well, why not do the same for video games?

Sonic 06
From all of the Betas leading up to it's release, Sonic 06 had the potential to surpass SA2, but due to time constraints and a terrible story, this game ultimately became the bane of the sonic franchise.
With a rewrite to feature Metal sonic (who was originally supposed to be a major character), Giving back all of the goodies that the beta had, and last but most importantly, adjusted game-play for stability and BETTER CONTROLS and oh yeah Better Engine so that 70% of the game isn't loading screens.

What games do you guys think that deserves redemption?

Judge Dredd: Dredd Vs. Death

This is a fairly fun little budget shooter that takes a lot of cues from Halo, but the devs obviously ran out of time and money towards the end. It's not very well optimized for PC, and 2 of the last 3 levels (though not the final) are short and only difficult because of ammo scarcity. There's also a lot of recycled elements towards the end of the game that become really glaring. And the co-op would have been a lot of fun but as I recall it's LAN only.

But there's lots of really funny jokes throughout the game and fun unlockable arcade challenges. There's nothing quite like the guilty pleasure of upping your score for a level by arresting innocent bystanders for crimes such as "Owning a goldfish without a license. 6 months in the Cubes!" You have a "law meter" that determines how much Dredd is following the law, with Chief Judge Hershey complimenting or admonishing you over the comm. depending on your performance, if you shoot too many bystanders or thugs who have surrendered instead of cuffing them, it's determined that you've gone rogue and the Judges take you out. Together with Dredd's one-liners this gives a really nice sense of the comic series it's based on, you feel like Judge Dredd, not just some random guy dressed as him. But the problems listed above make this just an "ok" budget shooter when it could have been a great one.

PS- The voice acting is also really good for the time.

I'd like recoded, better-artstyle versions of the three CD-I games:
-Wand of Gamelon
-Faces of Evil
-Zelda's Adventure

The gameplay in some of these seemed ok, though it fell terribly short of expectations.  However, a recode with the ideas from the current games would probably be great.
And please remove the horrible voice acting and cartoonish animations.  They're scary.

Knights of the Old Republic II.
On its own, the game is already decent enough, but due to LucasArts rushing it and not allowing official patches to restore the cut content, there was simply too much threads left hanging, and even the fan restoration project can only do so much.
I know the chances for this are next to none, but imagine if Obsidian were given another chance to actually complete it.
It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.

If you want to talk about great RPGs that just weren't given enough time to be finished, look no further than Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines. Incredibly well written/acted and emmersive Deus Ex style RPG, but you need fan patches just to get it running. There's also some balancing issues later in the game where you have to have high enough levels in combat (melee or ranged) to finish the final 1/3rd or so. All due to White Wolf and Activision pushing the game out the door before it was really ready. It was the final title by Troika games, a small developer founded by the makers of the original Fallout games after they left Interplay. They shuttered their doors before getting to put out patches.

As it is, fan efforts to port VtM:B to a more recent and stable version of the source engine (it was built on a beta version) haven't come to much, so it's either the fan patches or nothing.

Aliens: Colonial Marines. When this game was showcased it was awesome. But when we got it much was left to be desired as this you tube video well demonstrates; What the hell happened to Aliens: Colonial Marines?

P.N.03 definitely needs to be redone. Reading the development history showcased so many ideas. Obviously a remake would be almost exactly like Mikami's Vanquish (since that's where most of the ideas went to), but come on. This game needs to be done justice.

Breakdown. THIS A MILLION TIMES OVER. This story was one of the best in a video game yet, but damn, the gameplay made it extremely difficult. One-on-one combat was fine, but fighting any more than one enemy made this a VERY difficult game. (In particular, the gauntlet was absurd).

Deadly Towers for the NES. I've played through it with the aid of a walkthrough, otherwise there would be absolutely no way I'd have known what I was doing. The game's actually not as horrible as it's made out to be, once you get to a certain point in the game.

They could've made your character more powerful from the beginning, or at least faster. This is a big point of frustration starting out, although you do gain strength and speed through the course of the game. You start out seriously underpowered, and there's really no immediate indication that you power up along the way.

Also, when you take damage, the knockback could've been relative to the direction you're facing. Instead, enemies send you directly downward on the screen each time you're hit, resulting in a lot of frustrating pit deaths. It just seems more like bad design than the trait of a legitimately challenging game. And they could've allowed for a brief window of invincibility after taking damage, like most other games do. Instead, you usually get "pushed" off cliffs due to enemies dealing multiple hits, since you're essentially powerless to defend if you get hit just once. Cheap and frustrating.

They could've benefited from better enemy design, as well. About 90% of the game consists of evil crap blobs and evil spheres. With a castle that looks relatively decent, It's a shame that the enemies are some of the most uninspired you'll ever find in any video game ever.

There's no sense of direction in the game, either. Although I think the cryptic nature can have its charm, I can see how most people would hate it. The game just throws you into the thick of it, with no clue on how to progress. It's never clear what you're actually supposed to be doing...a lot of games from this age had the same problem, but this game takes it to comical proportions. Like the dungeon. God help you if you find yourself stuck in the dungeon. It's the largest and most frustrating area of the game, and you realistically can't make it out without the aid of a walkthrough. It's so huge, but for no good reason. It could've been reduced to a 10th of the size that it is, and it would still be too big.
It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

I just watched it, and oh my god, what the hell happened indeed. It's just like Sonic '06 all over a...gain...

Personally this is my favorite Aliens: Colonial Marines video.
Aliens Colonial Marines: All Singing, All Dancing.

It's times like this I'm glad I'm more a Yautja fan than a Xenomorph one.

LOL!! That was inspired by the Xenomorph scene in Spaceballs! Which in turn was a spoof on the chest bursting scene in Alien.
