Nightmare Busters for SNES

I read a yahoo article about this game just being officially released for SNES. It looks super cool. I'm wondering if anyone has played it on emulator or picked up a copy?

I think Nintedo should re-release the SNES and sell it for $50. They could start making games for it again too. It would probably sell better than the wii u, and perhaps could help them make up for some of the losses they've suffered with the Wii U.

Super Nintendo is one of those timeless systems that many casual gamers still have hooked up. I think there could still be a market for it. The new version of the SNES could have a small hard drive, use the wii shop and have online play for 2 player games.

I would jump all over that!

$50 for the SNES with 2 controls and super Mario world. It could so work!

Kinda like they did with the NES during the SNES days where they completely redesigned the deck and controller. Although you wouldn't see much of that on a new SNES since it was good enough as it was. Having the SNES re-released also means that we can get lots of those obscure SNES games that never made it over here during the 90's. How many jems have passed us by thanks to some stupid decisions on the suit's part...

This also means that we could get our long awaited Super Castlevania V. Just throwing that out there.  ;D

Actually Super Mario world has been bundled up with Super Mario All-Stars so have that package released with the new SNES and you'd have a big seller on your hands!

it could prolly work. Specially with the estore implemented. Those knock off consoles like the sega and the atari sell pretty good so I can see it doin ok. It wont be a HUGE seller tho cause itd be more for niche buyers and nostalgia purposes. Theres not much point in payin 50$ for a super closed economy like the estore when you can play any of those games on any cellphone thats come out in the last 4-5 years not to mention countless other modable portables and consoles that can handle those games with ease includin the wii/u and somethin like the ouya.

The odds of the ever happenin are super slim but if it did Id expect a one off special release kinda edition and the ability to play the old original carts. Thatd be about the extent of it. I wouldnt expect them to make an online enabled version even for so much as the multiplayer much less the estore. And even if it did all happen the odds of it gettin released in the US would be incredibly low.

Your best option for somethin like that is not to rely to the big N to do it ever and make your own flashy "emulator on a chip" like those knockoff ones and load it up with all the roms you want. Thats the closest your likely to get unless you find one of the actual nintendo knockoffs which very very quickly got pulled from everywhere in the US. I saw em once and didnt buy one and havent seen em since =/

They could make the controllers wireless too! Everything else should stay the same though. There already was a SNES redesign.

I think if they kept it low cost with these standard updated features, a lot of late 20's gamers would buy it. It would probably outsell the wii u in it's first quarter. Haha

I know I'm dreaming, but that article made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

Clone consoles are tricky, I can't really see Nintendo doing one because it would be expensive to do properly, plus it would be in competition with their virtual console. The reason most clone consoles can afford to be so cheap is that they use emulation rather than actually duplicating the hardware of the original console. This leads to imperfect playback and/or downright incompatibility with some game cartridges. Castlevania 3 was well known for not playing on most clone consoles for example, though I think most newer ones have probably fixed this since "Does it play Castlevania 3?" was becoming one of the litmus test questions on the accuracy of a clone's emulation.

I would look more for Nintendo to do something like the Atari Flashback though personally. That way Nintendo could make sure all the games they chose to put on it would work well, and that their virtual console wouldn't see increased competition from old cartridge copies of other games. I'd also expect it to be a lot more expensive than the Atari Flashbacks since well, Nintendo doesn't want to "devalue their IPs".

But hey, such things have happened. SEGA has licensed at least 2 clone Genesis/Mega Drive consoles that I know of (one of them being portable) but the consensus was that they were both pretty shite. Especially the sound emulation on the console one. Though that did have some built in games which was nice.

Also yeah it's sweet when new games get released for classic consoles. I still want to try out this bad boy.
Classic Game Room - PIER SOLAR and the GREAT ARCHITECTS review for Sega Genesis
Buuuuuuut I've only bought 4 or so games in my entire life for $50 or more. They should just slap it on steam for $10 already. (And I'll grab it on a sale then.)

PS- I can't see a return of cartridges because they're so much more expensive to produce than discs. Though if they can figure out how to put bigger games on USBs (I don't know if it's a heating problem or what that's kept them from doing this already) I wouldn't be surprised if we see those becoming a distrubution method for games. Whatever point in the future that games get big enough that the number of installation discs you have to stick a game on becomes too absurd.

Ive got the sega clone console. Picked it up in november at family dollar. Its pretty cool. Some good built in games plus the standard genesis cart socket. The wireless controllers are complete shit as theyre IR based instead of bluetooth but it has the plugs for the standard controllers. I picked up a few games and a normal wired 6 button controller that same weekend at a fleamarket and played for hours. The sound issue is cause its forced mono only. The connector is standard r/y/w but with no red so no stereo sound.

So yeah... IF it happened at all Id say itd be just like the sega one but made by nintendo and prolly x2 more expensive. But I wouldnt bet on it ever happenin at all
