Anyway, the potential value of this black and white manual is not at its different from font or page numbers,
But its misprint game title and company name on the back.

This is nothing to do with the misprint stamps or money paper, however recently bid uppers like to bid up any crappy things which they can see the space for increasing value.

It's common for bootlegs/pirates to have such errors on the back.  It could also be an honest-to-god misprint, of course.

This is true, but we haven't established that it's an official print, at least not to my satisfaction - these stores are in it to make a profit, who knows what they're up to.  Bootlegs/pirates aren't worth so much, unfortunately.

Blue Successor:
The black and white manual is not a bootleg, because I have it, too
I bought my copy at KMart.

Do you doubt Kmart are selling bootleg/pirate game softwares and cheating customers?

What else stores or marts do you doubt?

BTW, I've seen tons of bootleg and pirate games. None of them can cheat my eyes beyond 10 seconds.

This question requires Blue Successor to answer.

Wow.  Heh, I never caught that before, but the back does have a typo that says it was made by KCET.

Yeah, this thing isn't a bootleg.  If you guys don't want to take me for my word, I guess I could scan it to show that I have the same manual.  I'm afraid I can't prove that I bought it from KMart, though.  But... I did  ;D

BTW, KCE Tokyo is not the typo. The original color manual also type KCE Tokyo on the back.

The typo part on my manual is "KONAMI KRAZY RACERS" & KCEO & KCE Japan.

KCE Japan focused on MGS2 in 2001. It's weird for KOJIMA to put a hand on Castlevania.
KCE Osaka focused on several crappy shitty games at that time.

My memory's fuzzy, but I think both KCEK and KCE Tokyo were also credited on CotM's title screen, so I don't think that's a typo, Sucessor. D:

In response to Blue Successor, so it was a later run.  Cool

I kinda of knew that if it isnt a bootleg, it has to be a later run because it didn't make sense if the first run was in B&W and the second was color.

I can't say with certainty that it is a later print run, that's just a guess.  I'm guessing it is because I bought it years after Circle's release.  But, for all I know, that copy could have just been sitting on the shelf since 2001.  That is actually what I thought, because KMart (at least the one near me) is a rather dusty store that's not kept up as well as Target or even Wal-Mart.  So, I sometimes go there with the hope of finding older games that are new and sealed.

I kinda of knew that if it isnt a bootleg, it has to be a later run because it didn't make sense if the first run was in B&W and the second was color.  Nromally, when they do a re-release, the game company would cheapen the product by giving less color docs and such.  Also, the majority of us owns the earlier run games, so it would seem less plausible for it to be an eariler run especially with ppl like myself buying the game the day the GBA came out.

It seems that Konami stuck the end cover of Krazy racers for the later runs of the game either by accident or on puropse

Konami may have lost the original template for COTM and used Krazy Racers as a replacement

I don't think Konami lost the original template for COTM.

The more reasonable guess is:

This is the first print manual for COTM, but it was released and packaged later than the first run.

This manual was printed in USA for the GBA launch, but they misprinted the game title on the back as KRAZY RACERS. The reputation of KONAMI and Nintendo would drop if this misprint happen, so they deliver the reprint mission to Konami Japan. (Printed in Japan)

However, the color manuals were not sufficient to supply more demands for COTM. After the first run, KONAMI packaged this misprint manual to cover it. Obviously the copies of this b/w version were released in limited number.

Anyway, MISPRINT GAME TITLE is ultra rare in the gaming industry. This B/W manual is an absolutely collector item!!!

-----------
BTW, the manual may be less color if the game were released in cheaper version like GREATEST HITS or PLAYERS CHOICE.
However, COTM never been released a cheaper version.
This is another rare situation in the industry.

No.  No one in their right mind would care about a misprint on the back of a manual.

yeah, it's lame.

If all of COTM manual are like this, they are worth nothing.

Obviously this misprint b/w manual only released a limited copies in the market.

Unlike those shitty "limited edition" released by those game companies, this is an unintentional limited edition.

"The rarer it is, the more it is worth."
