I have never used Alucard's BatForm on that particular section (only because I'm a Heart-Hoarder).
Glad to see it, but I bought this on Wii already so maybe it'll have a cheap upgrade price to Wii-U? I forgot how much it costs to upgrade...

Picked this up for my 2DS today. Now I have the whole trilogy on my 2DS.  :D

This is exactly why I never buy any Virtual Console games.

Well I don't "need" to upgrade it.  The vWii version plays on my gamepad just fine (though I still have to use the classic controller/wiimote to play it instead of the gamepad itself)

This would be a luxury thing to do as my Wii and Wii-U emulate Castlevania III just as nicely (if not better?) than the Virtual Console version.
I bought it more as a Castlevania fan than to actually play the game.  You should know that by now.

Doesn't mean they should be trying to stiff you though. They're seriously lagging behind, making you rebuy the Virtual Console title for each device owned, and or upgrade at a price. It's a milking tactic, plain and simple.

And sure, you could remove them from the loop and emulate it as you mentioned. It would be nice to have a legitimate copy though, without being boned for a few dollars every time you want to play it on a different Nintendo console. I'd seriously buy a bunch of games if I knew I could play them on both my Wii and 3DS. Extra points knowing I'd have them there and fully featured if I get a WiiU too.

The fact that they JUST implemented cross console eShop accounts tells you everything you need to know on how backwards Nintendo's network policies are. The WiiU 'upgrade' charge is the epitome of milking bullshit. Don't think for a second it isn't deliberate, and completely targeted at our demographic (old gamers) hoping to cash in on the nostalgia.

So when are we gonna get a remake of this game?

Hopefully never.

That's right, I said it!

Blasphemy! It'll happen! You'll see! Right after the remake of Final Fantasy 7, and Chrono Trigger!

:'(

(Seriously remake Simon's Quest already though.)

Chrono Trigger doesn't need a remake since an updated re-release came out for the DS (I say re-release because there was already a release for Playstation a while back).
The DS version is the most complete.  My nephew played the living shit out of that.

But yes, they do need to remake Simon's Quest.  MetroidQuest's PC version is just too faithful of a version, down to exact locations.

I do agree that milking you for every version of a game is bad form on Nintendo's behalf.
The way it works right now is, if you own (bought) a VirtualConsole version of a game, you pay a very reduced (I think it's a dollar) price to upgrade to the Wii-U version, which gives you access to Miiverse in order to do social interaction regarding the game(s).  For people who don't want to pay that dollar (could be a buck fifty), they can always play the Wii version they bought originally for free.

However, the way it SHOULD be should be like this:
-You bought a legitimate virtual console version of a game.
-You should, by cross-play nature, be allowed to play this game on Wii, Wii-U, and 3DS, all for one price, that price being what you originally paid for it.

They are indeed dropping the ball and do appear to be nickel-and-diming you by not having this feature.  To be fair, PS4/Vita only recently got this feature... though I recall some blurbs online about such functionalities also being in the PS3/PSP, but I'm not sure.

...Nintendo people are trying to get there, though... that magical Apple-Like future where one purchase is playable in all devices...

We really don't need it, but I doubt we'll get an original/new Castlevania anytime soon either. I'd settle for a remake/reimagining of an older game if it comes down to it.

Still have my working cart, 2 working NES systems, plus the PC release with the first 2 games and both Contras, so I'm good.
