What if the Pachinko Castlevania was just the Lords continuation? 'Cause I can see that happening.

I wouldn't be suprised if Konami even denied me getting my Castlevania fix from slotmachines and pachinko's.

I still haven't bought Lords of Shadow 2.  I'm waiting for the price of a used copy to drop to $10 or so.  Shouldn't be long, not that I'm holding my breath.  It took Dave Cox and MercurySteam to destroy CV to the point where I'm no longer first in line to pick up the newest release.

But the way I think of it, the CV series is sorta like Drac being reincarnated as Soma.  It's not going to be Castlevania anymore, but I'm sure Iga will give us something with the same soul....over and over and over again.   :)

Same here. I have no intention of actually playing Lords of Shadow 2. I don't think I'm losing anything by skipping it.

Maybe just a little fun playing a video game. Even if it isn't the most "Castlevania" CV game, it's still fun to play.

Hiding from enemies isn't fun. I'll pass.

The demo was also pretty shitty and glitchy. I even fell right through the floor falling into endless nega-space.

Bad story. Bad gameplay. Bad programming. What here is worth playing, let alone worth my money again? Oh right, nothing. I'll be ok skipping out on it.

I kinda want to play it, just to say I have.  Surely it will have enjoyable moments as a game, but I don't know if I'll really like it as a "Castlevania" game though.  I enjoyed playing LoS 1, but it just didn't really feel like a Castlevania game.

Even though Cox said that LOS2 would be the final game of that story, the ending clearly states that a third part is in order and as someone recalled what Bergaron said, I think Konami will put out a LOS3 kind of thing. As I understand it, the game is not good, but sales were not that bad, so that's what matters as business.

The LOS trilogy is actually pretty good, as long as you look at it as a non-canon offshoot. The gameplay is fun, the story is acceptional, and the graphics are great. LOS,2,and MOF were actually some pretty good game, if only Konami had slapped a different name on them other than "Castlevania".

I still haven't played LoS2 or it's demo, so I can't judge it. The whole game was already spoiled for me though so I know what to expect when I ever do play it.

I was really going to get it and try it out, but after reading about stealth sessions and a few other things, i don't know if it's worth 38 euros, maybe when it gets 20 euros or find it used.

The execution of the open world concept is very tedious. You constantly get interrrupted by a group of damage sponge enemies and escaping can be very difficult or outright impossible sometimes. For example, if you try to climb up a ledge when you're in the presence of enemies, the game goes into slow motion and the enemy fires projectile which is very hard to hit, almost always knocking you off. There are also lots of badly hidden loading times, and the scripted platforming gets annoying after you have to go through it for the 50th time. It's like they didn't even consider if the elements of LoS1 actually worked in an open world game.

Funnily enough, Resident Evil is in the same predicament right now. Released a few games with that received some overall disdain, and now the future of that is uncertain, too.

And I've been itching for new games of both that and CV.

Well it's not exactly "new", but you just got your wish - Resident Evil 1 remastered for PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3 and Xbox 360

I've said it before and I'll keep saying it -I'll take a few remakes/remasters at this point. Gimme Dracula's Curse Chronicles or whatever and I'm happy as a clam.

Considering the games themselves were bad regardless of the title, i highly doubt any sort of name change or disassociation with the castlevania series would've saved them from the mediocre scores they received

There's a predicament I see. Suppose LOS3 is made and is well received. We are still angry that LOS2 was not the game we wanted. Do we buy the game hoping to get a Castlevania fix or do we not because of LOS2 failure?
