Don't worry Incubus. I know it won't be as ambitious as Thaddeus' hack, but even a redressing of CV II with those awesome sprites of his would make a world of difference for the game itself. And that's something I'd like to see

Yeap, that's what I'm thinking, too. However, I will try to redesign the layouts at least a little bit.
How varied the layouts become will depend on how much free space there is in the base patch for me to work with.

Beautiful, as an ex-pixel artist this stuff makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

I once made a bad-ass 1 stage CV1 hack after studying some of Thaddeus' work.
I was very proud of the graphics I made.
But I lost the ROM in a hard drive crash ages ago.
Now all that is left is the stage layout I drew on graph paper.
One of these days I want to recreate it.

This was over a decade ago. There were no external back-up drives. lol
But seriously, at the time I just had the one drive in my computer, free online storage didn't exist yet.

Sure there was. Well not external drives per se, but there was the ZIP and JAZZ drives at that time. I still have mine, lol!

Thad was close to the DCTP fold for a hot minute during the heyday of Dracula's Curse: THE MESSAGE BOARD!!! where he'd occasionally show off some sweet work.  Whatever he's up to right now, I must say that Thad is a fucking genius.

Thad actually had some youtube vids up a while back for a Contra-like title named Vampira or something like that. He was a damn good sprite artist. I was trying to find the vids for it but I think they have been long taken down.
