Hmm, just read that thread.
I can indeed export to fbx with Rhino.  Scaling (as mentioned in that thread) is not a problem as I can set measurements on my own as long as I know the output.  And during the import to Unity, they can resize if necessary.

Interesting.  While my models aren't nearly as detailed as the ones above, I'm more about doing Locales.

Well you did mentioned that you normally get someone else to do your textures?

Maybe you should work on your texture pipeline.

I don't know how it using Rhino, but I do know if I find my textures are blurry using Maya or 3ds Max I have to adjust my UV's in my 0 to 1 space in the UV Texture editor or I need to increase my MAP size so that it displays more resolution.

Also, you should look up making your own custom Materials or Shaders. I don't know that process for Rhino but I am sure you can figure it out.

Your lighting plays a part as well.

Hopefully my suggestions can help you out in getting your textures in the right direction.

Usually I just make the model.  I don't worry about the textures until the very last minute.
I can draw elements and lay them out on a scene, etc.

If you recall a while back, I made the 3D Clocktower that Esco ended up using in his Symphony of the Night engine.  It was rather easy.

I suggest this thread be just for 3d consultations, 3d showcases, etc.

The 3d contest is on a separate thread.
Those interested in the contest should please go here: http://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/index.php/topic,7557.0.html

Elder vampire bodyguard

Wow, dude that is very impressive.

Could use some more dynamic lighting to really show off your details dude.

Do you have emissive maps on the glyphs?

Not Castlevania, but still in the vein of badass vampire hunters.

Base is almost done. Need to touch up the hair on the head and about to start the tattoo's. Then the texturing and map process will begin!

Everything was sculpted in ZBrush from scratch starting with Z spheres.

I am going to model some shades in maya and import those in as well.

this is a continuation of this thread:
http://castlevaniadungeon.net/forums/index.php/topic,7851.0.html
Since DarkmanX asked I'm going to start posting all my progress here.

I decided to scrap my old model and start again. This time around I'm using topology similar to a few Japanese 3d artists I've seen online and I am much happier with the way it is looking.

Next up I need to model her ear then start her hair, at which point she should start looking more like Sonia I hope.

Modelled a basic ear but I'm putting off creating her hair for now - I can't decide on the best way to go about modelling it.

The body isn't final yet there is still plenty of work to do on her chest and overall proportions.

I'm not 100% happy with the topology but I think I'm going to call the body pretty much done otherwise I’ll never finish her. There are still some tweaks I need to make to the proportions yet though.

Wow looks cool..will she be a vampire huntress? I would agree i htink the build here is well done. And you did this in blender? Yeah that program can is complex. Mainly i use for import/export. Still it can be very useful for a number ofthings.  Either way looks very sharp!!

Taking Edward Scissorhands to a whole new level!
