I find that one really hard to listen to. A repeating set of notes in there is really making my ears hurt. The SNES one is far far better.

I agree  :-\  Maybe you could switch out some of the instruments in the Genesis version with others. Doing that would make the song less strenuous on the ears I feel.

Genesis was always picky I found with sounds, and Ive seemed to misplaced one of my main composing programs its on one of my backup disks, lol originally I had the SNES version running with my hybred soundfond, but the SCV4 drums were overpowering, so I dropped it
