How about IGA makes a friggin' game set in the 14th century on how Matthias became Vlad the Impaler or something, and how the Church dealed with him, making him the Lord of Darkness and thus, the Curse of the Belmonts finally begins.

 

Or pretty much, Castlevania 3: The Prologue.

I think it was pretty much established what happened prior to CVIII. Mathias changed his name once he settled down in Wallachia and practiced sorcery to spread darkness throughout Europe. The Eastern Orthodox Church sent Sypha and knights to combat his influence, and Sypha was petrified until Trevor came along and some of the Church troops were zombified (going by the Bloody Zombies' description in SotN.)

yeah, cause it's more less known what happens before cv3 (drac lives more less peacefully with lisa, then village people kill her, he goes RAAAAAGEEEE and starts a war against humanity, church sends troops+sypha etc) but it's still not known what was going on during the 300 year period after loi.

that said I really hope they will not touch the 1900s anymore. it already has 3 games in it (with the 3rd one, the 1999 conflict estabilished though not made yet, but most likely it will be in the future) and we don't need more than that. i mean, one of iga's reasons for retconning cv64/lod was that the 1800s were too crowded, with only 4 games

though maybe he would retcon pork if he were to make another game in 1900s lol

Aria of Sorrow had the best story in all of Castlevania IMO...

You know, it's statements like these that remind you of just how little Konami has paid heed to Castlevania's storyline or continuity for that matter. *s i g h* Friggin' heck.
