If Tanya's been brought back then why not Jade? both are seriously bitter rivals to eachother.

Kitana has a "Jade" variation and staff moves.

Isn't that a cheap way of doing it? Tanya isn't as big a deal as Jade yet she's fully in there.

I have considered that it may be cheap. I am holding my reservations until I play the game because it may make sense then.

But it seems there are lots of characters people are upset did not (or has not yet) made it in.

I for one am ok with Jade not being in, but it would have been nice. But I definitely do not give two shits about Tanya.

But if you noticed, this go around Netherrealm combined alot of classic MK characters into new ones. i.e. Cassie Cage.  I actually don't want them to bring back classic characters too often just to have them in EVERY iteration of MK.

Scorpion and Subzero don't have to be in ever MK. (I know, blasphemy.) Instead of having Sub-Zero again they could have resurrected Frost, etc. And Scorpion has Takeda now. They could have left Scorpion out too this time around.

Force players to play as the new character so they learn that hey these guys are cool too. That way when they do return it's really a big deal. I don't want MK to go the way of SF2, where there is literally no more character development. (The closest we had was SF3.)

The character I really want most back in MKX is 4 legged Motoro!

They tried this before with the PS2-era of games (Deadly Alliance, Deception, Armageddon). People literally did not give two shits about the new characters they introduced in all three games, with the exception of Kenshi (hence why he still gets used).

Bamco also tried this with SoulCalibur V, and well... we all know how that turned out.

It is simply not MK without Scorpion, remember MK3 didn't have him, and they hurriedly put him into the UMK 3 revision to satisfy folks like myself.

As you can tell now, I am a fan of Scorpion since the original game, I used to cheese my friends on the Genesis version of MK1 because he only had 2 moves really (spear and teleport).

Yeah, Scorpion & Sub-Zero are pretty much the Ryu & Ken of MK.

Speaking of Scorpion, the comics show that he has regained his humanity. What do you guys think of that?

It is precisely because it never cared, that people do care.  It's something which it's lacking, because that which it has, it has lackluster of.

I haven't read the comics yet, but I heard he did regain his humanity, that he learned to "tame the demon inside" or something like that?

I think it's a welcome change on paper. I am interested to see how that plays into the story. But I'm all for changing up some things, and the idea is a welcome change to me.

Yeah, MK without Scorpion/Sub-Zero is bold, daring and probably pretty stupid in a business sense. MK3 didn't have Scorpion (supposedly due to legal issues with Daniel Pesina, and so they wanted to stick it to him) and people complained and then we got UMK3.

If they ever released another MK without one or the other, the fanbase would be totally up in arms. I for one would be very disappointed. I say just mix up their look and we'll be good to go.

But then again, with so much I've read how people are like "where is so and so, I don't care if so and so isn't in it", the fanbase is very particular about their favorite characters. NRS knows this and I like that they're mixing things up with MKX and finally bringing in new characters. Though, I will be honest, I really question some decisions, like including Johnny Cage, Sonya AND Cassie Cage. I was ok with Cassie being a mix of the two, but having all three seems really weird to me. I hope they can differentiate the characters enough to where it doesn't feel like copycats.

This game looks pretty hype so far. MK9 was really fun and a good game, it's just too bad they over patched it. But i'm liking the looks of what they've released so far. MK's come a long way in the last few iterations.

BTW, your game is also looking hype Pisces! Good luck with it!

Not entirely true.

Kenshi, Tanya, Frost, Noob-Smoke, Reiko, Fujin  etc. There were tons of new characters that were extremely cool that didn't get their fare share of game time in some of the future titles. But I agree that it did get overinflated at one point.

Comparing SoulCalibur V..that's a whole nother train wreak.

I do remember that. If Scorpion's wasn't Ed Boon's favorite MK character we wouldn't even have this conversation. I personally think that Sub Zero doesn't get nearly enough love as Scorpion does but, Cyber Sub-Zero in MK9 was super awesome!

Erron Black is very awesome! Looking forward to playing with him.

I totally agree with including all members of the Cage family in the game, to also include Jax, Kenshi, etc. Total overkill, just to please the die-hard fans. They could have spent the memory on mastering a 4 Legged Motaro hell even Kintaro!

Tanya, Reiko and Fujin actually came from MK4 before the ps2 era. The idea of Noob-Smoke as a tagteam came from Deception but they have been around aince MK2.

I was hoping Havik would make a comeback. The new characters look really cool and all, especially Takeda and Erron Black, but I wish MK would get away from generic asian names. Why call Hanzo Hasashi Scorpion but call Takeda, just Takeda. I love MK but always found the name thing really weird from MK4 forward.

Something that I just recently realized though is the first 3 main villains names started with SH. Shang Tsung, Shao Kahn and Shinnok. And Sektor rearranged spells Rokets. Surely I am not the first to see this though.

Yeah, the streams have been getting better and better as they really try to show it off. Only 2 more weeks for streams then its game time!
