Topic: So, I got Rare Replay today

I'm enjoying the hell out of this. I would have loved to see Wizards and Warriors and Ironsword in this, but the Battletoads arcade that I never got to play is just fantastic.

It took an hour and a half to download and install the newer games though.

Anybody else plan on picking this up?

I haven't decided yet if I'm getting an Xbox One (too poor right now anyway), but this would be a no-brainer for me. The Battletoads arcade game being the main reason for that...what an incredible game. I think that was the type of game most people were expecting from the original NES release. Then they died at the turbo tunnels instead.

I plan on it. I've barely played ANY of Rare's games, but jeez, the amount of content it's offering at the price it's asking is way too much to pass up.

I'd get it in a heartbeat if I had a feckin' XB1. Not planning to, not sure I ever will.

I'd hope Microsoft would pull their dicks out of their own ears and put it on PC, but that won't happen.

I kept hoping Rare and MS would put out the original Conker and Jet Force Gemini on 360's XBLA. Now they finally did release them in HD and it's on a system I don't wanna buy, boo.

Well, other people have. It's called emulation. All you have to do is download a rom, with the respective emulator forthe system, and run it!  ::::PPPP

Well, technically yes for the original Xbox. Any game that's backwards compatible on the 360 is being emulated. That's why a lot of them wind up with graphical bugs.

The Xbox one will emulate the 360 to play those games later this year, and already is with the Rare Replay games. At the moment I'm not sure about emulating Xbox 360 games on PC but It may be a matter of time if people are able to learn how Microsoft does it. As far as the original Xbox I've never tried it, but it should be possible since ps2 is.

Anyway, I've never been able to get Conker to play 100% without some slowdown or graphical bugs.

That said, I'm not sure if the rare replay is worth it...seems like it takes a while to download stuff :/

Some people would love to support the devs if possible and do things the legal way, especially if the game is new and especially if the game isn't expensive like it has gotten for classic gaming.

Emulation is alright in some ways, for myself it's how I built up a collection of around 1,121 legit games, either physical media, or through PSN/Wii VC. I was able to use it to playtest and find out what I missed and liked, but a lot of these games will never see a re-issue.
