Capcom's also been getting their shit together lately and really giving people what they want. An RE2 remake is something people have been wanting for 13 years now. I don't imagine a release any time soon but I do imagine they'd release it on the 20th anniversary of RE2.

This. The money is in remaking masterpieces today, because large companies who were previously more about 'crafting excellent games' are now about attracting masses and the all mighty dollar. Remakes of popular games are a good way to feed the beast and get newer gen gamers interested in older games they may have missed/ chosen to miss due to newer games being in abundance.
