.....you sir... are...a....F***ING GENIUS!!!!! This is just brilliant! Now THIS is a game i would play non-stop!!!!

Thank you. I haven't seen you on the forums previously so if you're new then welcome :)

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the 5 environments would be designed to connect and feed into one another as the story progresses. Although there would be 5 separate villages/ hubs, the environment would play as one open field. Although this would be an LOI sequel, there wouldn't be a combo system as such, just hard hitting attacks and subweapons/ item crashes. Like the 2dvanias you could chain combos by dash-cancelling.

Not 'dream' games exactly - certainly not in the 'ideal' game sense, but other Castlevania game ideas that have sprung into my head as I've been playing through and absorbing the series over the last year...

Soleiyu's Quest: a game starring Soleiyu Belmont battling against Elisabeth Bartley - either as a Classicvania or perhaps as a Metroidvania for the Game Boy.  Or anything really, I just remember seeing the idea of Soleiyu vs Bartley proposed on here ages ago and it really resonated with me.

Resurrection: the old cancelled Resurrection idea - I wouldn't mind going one further and seeing it also include Desmond Belmont, so it could have all three 'lost' Belmont's - it's 1666 and Desmond has disappeared while investigating activity at Dracula's still standing Castle.  His sisters then cast s spell which draws two other 'lost' Belmont's through time to aide him.

Prequel to CotM: I really enjoyed CotM and would love a prequel - I've got some vague ideas about a system where you control three characters, Morris Baldwin and both of Nathan's parents, as they explore the castle - but they all start in different locations and you use save rooms to swap between characters and share items etc - possibly even as an on line co-op game... Not sure how well it would all work though...

Kokoro Belmont game: craziest idea of all - a game starring Kokoro Belmont!  Set during the solar eclipse cycle that occurs between 1999 and 2036, Dracula Castle appears and Kokoro sets out to investigate.  Why I had this random des was that it would be a side scroller version of Guardian Legend from the NES, a mix of Gradius style shooter and Metroidvania! Light hearted in style but not entirely silly.  The plot could be that Galamoth is reaching back in time to try and take over in the time when Dracula is missing or something and it's a fake image of the Castle or something.

Kid Dracula Metroidvania: a Metroidvania starting Kid Dracula, with a Game Boy Advance type aesthetic and a chibi version of Dracula's Castle to explore.

I think this game would sell to fans and the like purely because of the title. I would buy it based on that.

I think Resurrection with Sonia would be awesome, but I really wish they'd not involve a "time" element.

I would say don't over-complicate it, just have the CVIII/ DoS System where you can flick between 3 characters with different abilities.

Kid Dracula Metroidvania: a Metroidvania starting Kid Dracula, with a Game Boy Advance type aesthetic and a chibi version of Dracula's Castle to explore.

I would play the shit out of this.

I've been proposing this idea for some time now, and posted it on this very thread. It just makes sense to have Soleiyu hunt for Elizabeth Bartley. She died in a period where Soleiyu was an adult. Furthermore, the latest timeline states that the Bartleys are believed to be behind Dracula's first revival (The Adventure). This SCREAMS "Elizabeth had a hand in this".

I can't think of anyone else to put an end to Elizabeth but Soleiyu.
Director of that one 1999 fangame that is not out yet.

Yes, I had a feeling it was you that had proposed that idea before, theplottwist - but not from this thread, I believe you have spoken about it in your Umbra of Sorrow project thread as well?  I read about the idea awhile ago and it just made so much sense to me.  Like zangetsu, I would be all over a Soleiyu based game if it was ever released - although perhaps not, as we joked in another thread, if it was released as a pachislot game  :-\

I would say don't over-complicate it, just have the CVIII/ DoS System where you can flick between 3 characters with different abilities.

Yeah, it is an idea that could get very complicated very quickly, especially with three characters - it would perhaps be easier to make work with only two characters (though that relegates one of the characters to a 'support' role or even kidnap figure role), or if the game was much more dedicated to being a multi-player game and the single-player mode was more there to make it accessible to everyone (like with LoZ: Four Swords Adventures, where it's clearly more fun with multiple players but you have a single player option as well).  I just thought there could be potential in a game where you have multiple characters that split up and take different paths, and you actually follow them between their different paths, or alternatively, where you play it multi-player but you are all free to run around and explore as you wish, accomplish different things, coming together to do certain things and fight bosses.

I would play the shit out of this.

So would I!  :D  A really fun and nice looking Kid Dracula update game - like a chibi Symphony of the Night.

Super-deformed, Chibi-fied SotN would be hilarious and adorable.  Shiroi and I, being the massive Alucard fangirls that we are, would be so up for that!  I'm just picturing Kid-Dracula/chibi!Alucard a la my favourite chibi-Allies:

.

Any fireball spells etc thrown would go pop! at enemies hit by them, and when you 'died', a cute little skull and cross bones, with XX eyes, would appear.  I want to see this happen now..

Ooohhhh my...... I'm now picturing a whole Chibi-vania series, including a chibi version of HoD.... including chibi!Dracul, chibi!Dracula. chibi!Trevorcard, chibi!Soma, chibi!Joachim.....  The chibi!Gergoth and chibi!Succubus, etc, I'm just picturing would be so adorable....  Even the Succubus would have an air of 'innocence' about her.  Something super-cute and funny, with a sense of humour not entirely unlike the SD shorts for Avatar the LoA, maybe even havign a scene where one of the characters, maybe Dracula?, pops out of SD chibi-form, only to be repremanded for doing so... in the case of Dracula, this could be Death, for example....
