My guess...this movie will not be made.

First, it went through 2 re-writes. That's never a good sign. Then, production was "postponed indefinately." That's bad sign #2. Now it's "derailed." Stick a fork in it, this film is never gonna happen.

Hopefully the animated CV3 film gets finished & released, cuz the live action movie is a dead project I think.

Q: Are you still trying to do "Castlevania"?
White: No. "Castlevania" is a project that I developed for a couple of years at Universal. We got to a really good point, then the division of Universal folded, and I jumped on this movie. Now it's set up somewhere else, and I believe that someone else got attached. It's one of my favorite video games, and I'm a huge video game player. I played that game for 25 years, and I loved developing it. I almost feel like I've already shot it because I was so into it for a while. I think it'll be a great movie if they do it right.

Q: All the sudden, these big name people are getting attached to video game properties. Do you feel that "Castlevania" could still go now?
White: I think it's going. I just think that my window... because they're going now, or they're going soon. I still have six months on this.

*nods* Much like what happened with "X-Men," "Freddy vs. Jason," and "Watchmen." And we all know how those films turned out ultimately.

FUN FACT: "Freddy vs. Jason" had some 11 finished scripts and 6 different directors tapped to helm it.

If this movie does make it to the big screen I really hope that the droped the samurai sword wielding Belmont. Something about that was just seriously wrong and waved red tape in my head or as captain Kirk wouldv'e put it; "I'm feeling a red alert...back here."

They could always change that swordto a Cutlass, or Schimitar. The whole Samurai sword thing is out of place. You know, it would be intresting to see if they ever did decide to make Victor Belmont a real character, he had an intresting plot and background.

I agree. He never made to the VG screen but he could make it to the big screen. And that whole outcast story arc of his is very original. Something IGA has yet to make use of. While all the other Belmonts gave in to destiny, Victor was the only one to have ever turned away from it bacause he didn't want any part of it. Nothing like a Belmont who's not only struggling against the forces of Dracula but he also has an internal struggle with his destiny as a vampire hunter, rather then living life by his own choice. That's gotta be tough.

Here's an update on our movie:

"[Castlevania has] been trying to find the right financing for it," says Sims. "It's a big film with a giant fan base. They're not going through a big studio so it's about finding the right investors. James and I went to Romania and scouted locations." As for the creatures he worked on, "There's a Medusa and the vampires themselves had a unique quality to them that falls into James' style."

The games are great, but there's no way in hell I could see them making a decent game out of the storyline. Just look at the people who want to direct it and try to tell me it'll be any good with a straight face.

I'd rather have the entire budget put in to more Castlevania games - because this is going to hurt more than a curbstomp.

the guy who directed Solomon Kane is about the one guy I know who can certainly make a goood CV despite a low budget.
