It's good. But nothing in that trailer lives up to Yamane's usual quality.

I did. Not impressed. I'm not really impressed with anything this game's shown so far.

Glyphs look like the soul system, just renamed, sprites are insanely bright colored, backgrounds look relatively uninspired and dull, animations aren't too great, and the opening animation made me cry. It really did.

And the music kinda sucked.

OK, some people they just don't seem to underestand anything! First this video is the one that they have presented at Konamis annual gamers day! Second the first trailers of the Pork they were sawing poor levels designs, just search youtube for the first trailers of the game and then for the latest trailers of the game.

  Also read this: Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia is tentatively scheduled for a late 2008 release, though Iga himself made mention that the team will be putting in extra hours to attempt that release, so a potential delay into 2009 is always a slim possibility.

You must all of you people underestand, that the graphics and overall game is looking different on a PC monitor and different on a DS screen!

 To see and underestand this, play a GBA castlevania on a emulator at PC and then play again the same castlevania at GBA or DS and you will see what i mean!

Michiru has written both songs at least a dozen times each before. There is nothing distinct about them. I sure hope that first one isn't the theme song for the game because it sure won't lend a very unique identity to it!

Well, this song is not that bad, but it's not also something special or something that it will impress you. It's common and cheap for a song from Yamane. I was expecting something better that simple tunes, since i have heard better songs on DS from other games!

Well, that's the first time I've heard it... I really enjoyed it.

You're entitled to your opinion, but you must have had VERY high standards for this game if it let you down so badly.

I loved the opening animation, and while some backgrounds look better than others I noticed plenty of very good looking ones, like the pirate ship or the town. Animation looked pretty standard... and I still liked the music.

I don't think anyone posting here plans to boycott the game over these petty complaints.  Disappointment is natural when you have high expectations, and high expectations are the norm for Castlevania fans.  We expect only the finest of entertainment from our beloved franchise, and when we see or hear something mediocre from a team that we know can do better --we're quick to cry foul.

Ultimately it's really too early to be making snap judgements based on so little info.  We probably won't be getting any more media for awhile, so I'm sure the analysis, speculation, and criticism will continue ad naseum.  What's interesting here is the concensus that this trailer didn't deliver the hype.
