It's not old enough to call it old.

And, yeah, it's awesome.

Eh. I made a resolution to stop caring about video game drama (ie Hot Coffee, Uwe Boll), and I don't intend to break it.

I can't believe I almost read that whole goddamn diatribe of his. He's clearly unstable, delusional, and teetering on dangerous.

While he seems to makes some good points at times, he's never telling the full story as evidence or he's clearly misunderstanding the difference with his "crusade".

For instance, the legalization of peyote among some Native tribes is a lot more specific, contained and controllable and harmless than creating a law to ban a videogame, or in his desire, all remotely violent ones; thus undermining the 1st amendment.

Also, has he not come to the realization that his little crusade, which he considers in the name of Christ, is stamping all over the separation of church and state?

Well I don't know the full story behind his accusations of "Referee Tunis," his nonstop barrage of out of the blue "evidence" and his all-too-noticeable holier-than-thou attitude should be enough to disbar him, regardless if there's any truth to his statements.

He is not of stable mind, so how on earth could be a stable lawyer.

Bye bye, Jack; good riddance.  :-*

Agreed --for the most part...

But there is one thing I'd like to add....  The man's so-called "christian crusade" strikes me as little more than a ploy to win support for his anti-gaming agenda through the media.  He may well be a christian, but I think he plays it up to elevate himself within the religious right.  And by doing so, he sets himself in a strong position to influence other christians on these matters.

Good to know that his power is nearly at an end.  Unfortunately someone else will surely take his place...

I kinda feel bad for the guy, actually.   Now thatI know it's being recomended that he be disbarred for 10 YEARS, I'm kinda worried for him; how is he going to make money to support his family?  I mean, I know his wife is a lawyer, but having your household income cut in half (guestimation) cannot be a small matter.

My .02USD on the subject. The guy's getting what he deserves.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but:
1) Video games have been out since the 1960's or so, violent crimes have happened since the dawn of man. The dawn of man was eons before the 1960's.
2) If your 13-year-old kid is playing an M rated video game, and you don't like it. Ask yourself, how did the kid got the video game? And even if you didn't buy it for him, why is he still playing it?
3) When religion is involved, a common reason is to say it's wrong because it goes against God. Well, who in this world then guarantees the righteousness and sanity of your God**?

Having said that, think of the consequences before you act. If you don't like it, move along, nothing to see there. Don't make stupid statements saying, it's the root of all evil without proof. I have a couple of articles on the subject, if anybody wants to read them, I'll post some links.

Cheers.

** On this notice, I am a Roman Catholic. I choose not to talk about my religious practices because my beliefs are of no concern to the person next to me. I always ask myself the question, just like in Plato's dialog Euthyphro: "Is the pious pious because it is dear of the Gods, or is it dear of the Gods because it is pious?" That being a question that Socrates and Euthyphro left unanswered. Recommended read, by the way.

This doesn't look good for our dear friend Jack Thompson.  It's an unfortunate thing that his adventures have ended here. GAME OVER.
