Seriously, you get to the Dracula battle and you get him down to like 25% health and then you die. Then you have to watch the fucking cutscene to hint to you how to beat him. Then you get him down to 25% again and you die. Then you watch the cutscene again. And your hand cramps up and you die you have to watch the cutscene again. Then your fiance talks to you and you die, so you have to watch the cutscene again. And it came down to 10% and you die. Then you have to watch a cutscene again. Then you're fucking tired so you die again, then you have to get the cutscene again.

I'm fucking done with this game. Who the fuck thinks it's ever okay to for somebody to watch a fucking cutscene over and over and over and over? I still haven't beaten mof because I get to Dracula, then I fucking quit because I'm sick of the goddamn fucking cutscene. I don't go back to playing it for a few months and then I get the fucking cutscenes again, so I quit again.

You've got a high tolerance for bullshit to even make it that far in mirror of fate.

Let's have Trevor and Alucard be the same person for some reason.

And after Trevor gets turned into a vampire he just arbitrarily has white hair and the name Alucard for literally no reason than "Hey! It's a reference!" fan appeal even though no other vampires in the new universe exhibit these traits.

And Gabriel has no idea Trevor is his grown son until it's too late even though Trevor regularly mumbles broodingly about his Belmont heritage and Gabriel's distant shadow is shown obsessively following him around the castle and Gabriel has a magic mirror that shows all the knowledge of the universe to instantly tell him Trevor is his son (but it only works when it's convenient for the plot?) and oh my god I still have no fucking clue how that was meant to work as a plot twist to Gabriel.

But hey at least the Revelations DLC for LOS2 was actually pretty sweet. #InsufficientSilverLinings
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

Meh... played and loved the HD version of this game on Ps3.  I still replay it.  Probably in my top 6 or 7 for the whole series.

Dracula was not always a monster. He was once a man named Mathias Cronqvist. A flawed, conflicted, genius of a man. How did the educated, aristocratic, crusader who piously served the church become a vampire, and eventually the Dark Lord himself, the opposing force to God? From a very young age terrors and tragedy shaped the man into the king of all evil. This is his story.

Can't stand half that game. Looks pretty, but too many annoyances, and basically separating platforming and combat was just a bitch ass move.

@Theou: Save yourself the hassle and watch the end on YouTube. It ain't all that anyway.

LoS is mostly garbage and I hope it stays good and dead forever.

I felt the same with Drac being a Belmont (first Belmont). I hope, when they (if they EVER) revitalize this series, they go back to something more simpler where Belmonts are Belmonts and Dracula's Vlad Tepes (not Gabriel, not Mathias, just classic Vlad). I also want them to go back to the style invoked by the recent Smash trailer, spooky castle, classic monsters, less grounded European fantasy (LoS1) and maybe dial back on the fancy Baroque styles of the IGA games.

Though given Konami, that might be too much to ask for.

Given Konami, literally anything that is slightly gamer friendly is probably too much to ask for.

I don't remember having trouble with MoF.

I didnt hate it's weird story either. In general I felt it was pretty easy to accept the LoS games as their own thing with their own take. I didnt even mind Trevorcard.

Also you say "no reason" but all things said, Gabriel never actually learned Trevor's name before he died. So, since he's Dracula, he named his son the opposite, because he stood against him.

As for looks, well, LoS made a point to say how vampires start out beastly and ugly and only the really powerful can take on human form.

Alucard was turned by Dracula himself and is already powerful, so hey, shortcut, but he's also blood starved. so visually, he's a few steps below Dracula.

I kind of liked his design really. What made no sense is how the moment he becomes alucard suddenly his hair and facial structure change entirely and thats just dumb

Laura and Gabriel arrive in the deepest cave of the castle and... they find IGA.

This is also kinda how vampires started out in the old lore before they were beautified in the Victorian era. And then bastardised in twilight  :P

Yeah. Damn that twilight. I had to renounce my open love for vampires when that shit came out. I'm still hiding.... :P
