Wow, that's good! If CV actually did take place in Japan (not counting AoS since that's in the eclipse), the I think this tune would fit very well as a theme for whatever stage they decide to put it in.
"Spirituality is God's gift to humanity...
Religion is Man's flawed interpretation of Spirituality given back to humanity..."

Holy hell, this is awesome. I really dig traditional eastern music, especially elements from it combined with rock. And this fits the bill nicely.

That's... angelic.
How not to be a dark lord: the answer to that is a terribly interesting answer that involves an almost Jedi-like adherence to keeping oneself under control and finding ways to be true to yourself in a way that doesn't encourage the worst parts of you to become dangerously exaggerated and instead feeds your better nature. Also, protip: don't fuck with Alchemy or strike up any deals with ancient Japanese Shinigami gods no matter how tempting the deal or how suavely dressed the Shinigami is.

Why does this work better than it should?

Well, considering that Castlevania as a series has (mostly) been an artistic endeavor that takes western horror themes, views them through the lens of Japanese artists'/content creators', then interprets it with a smidge of creative license...it's not that surprising at how well this works out. The opening base line in Divine Bloodlines ALWAYS made me think of someone strumming a shamisen with purpose anyway, so this fell right in line for me. :3

This is what I see when I listen to this:
