that was the excuse at the beginning, but at the end he goes "i don't need this body anymore, i have my body parts" and then the spirit somehow becomes dracula himself. :o

Yep, It appears that drac actually was the possesor at the end. He fed off of Maxims emotions to gain a foothold then takes his body completely over when the castle is resurrected.

I know I sound like an ass-hat saying this but when Last Belmont agrees with you, you know you're right!

Yeah, but Soma IS Drac. Wouldn't that put him above Girlycard?

That means next to nothing.  Soma's power is limited and he lacks the fighting experience that Alucard has.

Alucard was trained as a knight, so he's probably a better swordsman than Soma, plus he doesn't have to worry about keeping his cool in order not to become true evil.

Are you sure about that?  We don't know for a fact that Soma is destined to be the new dark lord.  The prophecy only said that a new master (the next dark lord) would come to the castle in 2035.  It never said that the new master would take power right away.  Plus, both Soma and Alucard were there.  Being Dracula's reincarnation doesn't mean that he is meant to become the dark lord.  Alucard could just as easily be the dark lord. Soma may be destined to destroy the new dark lord, who could end up being Alucard.  It's definitely going to be one of them.

You free to disagree with me, but this is just my opinion based on my understanding of the prophecy.

I'm gonna have to go with Soma, with Alucard close behind. Aeon is probably up there too.

Actually, John Morris is a descendent of the Belmont family... did you have to include him here?

He doesn't carry the Belmont name, thus his inclusion. Same with Jonathan and, had he not been retconned, Reinhardt.

Although I DID forget to include Grant and Sypha... Whoops...
