all the time I played Drakengard 3, I didn't think about framerate. I was too occupied with the fast paced combat, weapon switching, conversations, and cool animations. Also I dunno how people could bash its framerate so hard, when Bloodborne has some of the largest framerate dips and eye strain compared to PS4 60fps Dark Souls 2 SOTFS.
Drakengard 3 frequently dips into the 10-15 FPS range. It's hard to be immersed in fast-paced combat and cool animations when the game is only giving you a slideshow of the action happening on screen.
Also, I really don't see what Bloodborne has to do with anything. Even if it was to prove your point of "well, this game has huge frame dips, too!" Bloodborne, yeah, has some bad frame dips and can't keep at a steady 30. But it's never even close to as bad as Drakengard 3 goes. On top of that, it's significantly more noticeable in a game like Drakengard since Drakengard 3 is a significantly faster-paced game.
Simply Googling "Drakengard 3 frame rate" yields results of:
-Someone asking if the latest patch fixed the frame rate (spoiler alert: no)
-Someone asking about the terrible frame rate and chugging (this guy had it worse because he apparently didn't clean his system)
-Someone asking if the frame rate is really that bad (spoiler alert: yes)
-Someone calling the FPS drops hilarious
-Someone calling the frame rate "total ass"
-A Drakengard 3 Let's Play that shows off the frame rate (it's DSPGaming though so avoid it)
-and toward the bottom, someone questioning why they paid $60 for the game (which is weird, cuz I got it brand new day of release at GameStop for $50...), bringing up the frame-rate as one of their grievances
People's workaround to get a better frame-rate is to play the game at a 480p display rating. Basically, if you have to set your HD console into SD mode in order to play with a decent frame rate, your frame rate is probably ass.
As for the Automata English demo, well... The PSN in the west is notorious for updating in the area between 6 in the morning to 9 at night. It's such a huge range that
maybe you'll be able to play your new game or demo that day. Japan is pretty prompt about it. Don't have access to my PS4 right now, but I'll definitely have it soon. Really looking forward to this demo.
