Okay, so the Wii U was a bit of a letdown...
I didn't buy a PS4 or Xbox...In truth, though, I was fine with that at first. Nintendoland, for example, was great, and fun enough that my wife actually joined in and smashed through and "Mastered" all of the levels to Metroid Blast...that was crazy fun, and really highlighted the strengths of using the Wii Pad in conjunction with the TV screen...
But not too many titles out there could do the same. I can understand why 3rd party developers were scared, the possibility of using 2 screens at once had great possibilities, but few managed to succeed or even try at it. (Affordable Space Adventures did a great job of trying, though...)
Anyways, was just browing through some news a few days ago, and saw that Dragonquesti VIII was redone for 3DS, and realized just what it is that I want with the switch--full backward compatibility with all portable titles. It really stinks that I can't download and play DQ VIII on the big screen...I want to buy it, I want to play it...but can we get Nintendo to recognize that if they are trying to market a systems as both for the home AND on-the-go, you need to make ALL of your portable titles available as well is the ones designed specifically for the new console...
I am a sucker for nostalgia, so I really want full access to the games that highlight all the strengths (and weaknesses/limitations) of past iterations.
Thoughts?
