whisper whisper...new Castlevania, Saints Row 2 style?

that would be hawt.  I mean it would still have the
platforming nature of the CV games, and of course art style,
story. but this flavor would offer a more persistent world
with Castlevania.

I mean just imagine in Simon's Quest if you could jack some horses and pillage the villagers and break into the houses and get drunk off the wine in the cellar and stuff?
That stuff actually happens in CV, they just don't show it.

but yeah I think if they do it right, it should be called
Castlevania World.  and like there would be towns,
forests, and of course castle.  But since the player would
use character creation to create their own vampire hunter,
they don't have to be goody two shoes if they don't feel
like it.   heck, they don't even have to be a vampire hunter.  but yeah it would rock.  and of course people can
wield whips, magic and whatever style they prefer.

but yeah it would be sweet.  but if 3-D is too much for the
devs, maybe they can keep it like OoE but high quality for
consoles.

I tell you, the company that makes a gothic, sandbox
vampire hunter game will sell more than anything else,
especially if they pack it with plenty to do, and still
deliver a optional but worthy story to the CV universe.

but yeah with keeping things freedom and huge and lots to
do, it would really take Castlevania games to the next level
while still keeping the platforming and combat at its
roots.  but throwing people into walls would be a nice
addition  (throws Death through a glass window.  skrrrsh!
dam I'm good.)

(and I say Saints Row 2 style cause it makes gtaiv and SA
play like garbage. but hey, the real city type theme for
sandbox play is getting overdone.  we need something fresh like a Castlevania theme, but nothing like those dumb Fable games.)
ya know somethin like CV2, plus some CV atmosphere (Vampire
Hunter D is a good example of a town, but it was kinda
too futuristic with the technology.) atmosphere, plus CV elements, plus SR2 character creation and online co-op and
sandbox type freedom.

yeah that would be a real winner but it may be too much for
Konami to handle.  that's why they rather focus on short and simple stuff.

Considering who made this topic, I'm not surprised by how stupid it is.

it isn't stupid if the game takes itself seriously (unlike SR2).

its that type of thinkin thats got us all the SotN clones. Any type of gameplay can be applied to literally ANY series all it takes is the right team to do it.

You mean with a plastic shovel and pail? That would be pretty cool.
ha, ya, they really should have a giant sand castle level in a 3D Castlevania game one of these days.

No. The game would cost A LOT to produce, much more than your everyday Castlevania game. And it most likely would fail miserably in terms of sales. It would be the end of our series for sure. Lucky for us, Konami would never approve of such a foolish undertaking.

Let the already established franchises do the sandboxin' and let Castlevania be. Puuuh-lease!

i agree this is a stupid topic. a belmont is a hero he doesnt pilage or steal from citizens. he saves them. but it also wouldnt be a CV game castlevania games are mostly action adventure this would just be a free roam game. it would cost to much to make and not many people would like a gta/SR 1800's game.

sorta cv64 was sandbox but lacked the freedom you desired, the freedom to jsut explore and do what you wanted, i think in my opinion if that were the case the castlevnaia would play like fable, but have the open worldness of a sanbox type game, a hybrid in that case would mean save the world or you overthrow drac and take the demonic throne. hmm i may have presented myself with an interesting game idea
