and the level design is horribly bland.
I honestly don't mind the level design in the game entirely. It seems to focus more on enemy placement.

I have a very good question. I'm at Goliath. How the HELL do I kill him?! It's rediculus! No matter what glyphs I try, I dodge as much as I can, and his punching madness kicks my ass! Please help.

Spam the Vol Secare union until you run out of hearts then spam Vol Ascia for the rest of the fight. His attacks are very easy to dodge and you can keep backing him up so you don't get hit by his "100 Crack Fist of the North Star"(but you have to be ducking on the corner when he does it or you'll get hit). He's not too hard. I beat him without taking damage.

I thought the castle was good, but too much copypasta in it though.

The Castle is awesome, im glad they made it huge regardless of how many other areas there are in the game. Just finished it yesterday night and the ending was well worth it. Albus, made his heroic sacrifice.

Holy Cross is best Item Crash.

I thought the castle was good, but too much copypasta in it though.

Yeah, I got to the castle and was like "wow, this is a unique take on the dusty old place" but then after going through copy and pasted room after copy and pasted rooms, I felt like I might as well play CoD. On the bright side, the enemy placement keeps things fun as mentioned above. But the castle alone is differently the worst designed in the 2D series--at least what I've played.

You know what gets me though. I accidentally skipped the dialog after killing Albus--did he even die? lol, I feel like I missed something kind important.

I do really enjoy the game as a whole and the areas were awesome and fresh, it would be interesting to see this done with a massive one world map though. I'm really crabby about the lifeless castle. At least its pretty. The game is way more consistant than PoR which is great, but I would say it's still the weakest of the three if only for level design and mood. It has the most charm though. I don't feel like hanging the main characters like PoR and DoS(along with many others).

Gameplay is probably the best out of the Metroidvanias. I love how the enemy weaknesses actually mean something! I feel like they finally got their systems working right this time, it forced you to use the game mechanics to their fullest. The game is a fair challenge too and consistent throughout. I haven't finished it so we'll see how this develops.

Where are people getting the copy/pasted castle from? Each area is SO unique, it's not even funny...

room, not area. quite a bit of rooms are very much alike/almost identical, with only difference being differently placed exits and enemies.

Call me funny, but the copy/paste rooms didn't bother me that much. The only one that bothered me was the Skeleton Cave, only cause that area was sooooo small, you'd think they'd could've afforded to change the background a bit more. I mean, HoD's Skeleton Cave had more variation, and it was LARGER. But that's it. The mansions look killer and creepy, and Dracula's Castle, BEAUTIFUL!!

Okay, so now that I've beaten Albus, I'm in this stupid thing where I'm told by Barlow to use the Union glyph, but it KILLS ME. So what the heck am I supposed to do about that? he won't let me leave!

Copy/paste rooms don't bother me nearly as much as copy/paste areas.
