Dracula is far from pathetic. It wasn't just the loss of his wife. He defended the Church, defended God, and he felt that he was betrayed by God for taking his beloved away from him.
It's like working your ass off at a place for 30 years, until you became the best employee of the lot, and then coming home and finding your boss fucking your wife. If it were me, I'd say "Fuck you, I quit" and I'd try to ruin his business any way I could, just to smite the prick. I don't know if I'd sell my soul and become the lord of Darkness, while simultaneously screwing over all of my friends, but still.
