And I still can't beat a Touhou game in only one credit. It's going to be a long time before I move onto R-Type.

Oh cool, didn't see this thread. May as well submit a few of my scores since I'm both a Castlevania fanatic and a Tetris fanatic

Tetris the Grandmaster (arcade) - GM 12:28:10 - Normal mode - adel
Tetris DX (GBC) - 399,139 - Marathon Lv1 - adel
(pic here, reason for the lonely score is because I've never actually tried level 1 marathon, I usually do 9 or 0)
Super Tetris 3 (SNES) - 999,999 in 244 lines - Level 25 Endless mode - adel

ST3 is my only maxout at the moment, but I'm hoping to max TDX soon as well.

Also, let me know if I formatted that incorrectly so I can fix it.

It's been so long since I updated the list that I kinda forgot about this topic (but not about gaming thankfully). You can always post scores here, but competition has been dead a long time.

I'm going on holidays for a few weeks but I'll try to dig up my old Tetris DX score, L9 Marathon over 8 million.

EDIT: Nope, unfortunately I've lost all of the old .sav files for gb/gba roms.

I do however still have a score of 923,422 for Tetris DX Level 9 Marathon. It's very noob in comparison but at least there's a record.

Bump, I know, BUUUUUT

Do games like Vanquish and Bulletstorm count?
Does anyone else even HAVE those games? Or would I be wasting my time in posting?

Bulletstorm would be unique too, since you use your score to buy ammo and upgrades. Do you sacrifice your score for an easier time, or try to forage as much as you can for ultimate bragging rights?

Trying to keep it to arcade style games where you aim for the high score in 1 credit. Not sure if games like these have any kind of credit restrictions on them, doesn't look like it relies on score for anything one would aim for (highest and toughest to knock off scores). And if you can gamble it away for items, no.

Usually high score competitions are held to shmups, platformers, run n guns like Contra, and puzzlers, as well as old single screen games.

Maybe more modern stuff like Raiden IV  and perhaps some Indie games that still rely on trying to get the top score can qualify.
