circle of the moon if you want a game that'll make you go through a few consoles. Aria is a must if you're looking for that SOTN feel. Stealing the enemies abilities was cool.

I liked Circle of the Moon as a mix of classic Castlevania and Metroidvania, although I did think there were control issues that made it frustrating at times (having to double-tap the D pad every time you want to move fast or make a long jump gets annoying).  I liked Aria because it was the most polished and well made of the three.  Harmony would be my least favorite.  I just didn't like the aimless wandering around the castle and constant backtracking.  I was checking the map screen every five seconds and spent a good portion of the game fast-sliding through areas I had already been in order to quickly find the next place I was supposed to go.  Just tedious.

So I would recommend Circle for a good blend of new and old, Aria for a polished experience, and check Harmony out if playing a video game version of a hamster maze is your thing.

HoD > all castlevania games
-----------
If there's anything that would make me hate the classic Castlevania games, it most certainly isn't the games themselves; but rather, that ignorant fraction of their fanbase.

I love HoD. It's spooky, unpredictable and downright bizarre, in a good way. And the soundtrack is, in fact, brilliant. The actual compositions, that is. My only gripe with HoD are some of the sprites. The way Juste moves is just...wrong... And yeah, the game isn't that challenging, but neither is AoS, CotM, DoS, PoR or SotN. I even found OoE to be a bit on the easy side, but hey, that's just me...

Other than that, HoD is slightly better than both Aria and CotM in my humble opinion (which are good games too).

Unpredictable? ohh man, HoD take the ideas from all the other games, its obviusly what is going to happen and the multiple finals are just to cover it :S

Rivals fight(LoD), collect the relics to kill dracula(Cv2), a possesed friend/familiar(Belmont's revenge)

But i agree it has nice music, very creepy.

Personally i never espected something that like the hero could be Dracula, that notice on AoS was kinda shocking since ma friend told me about the books and the souls and i was like OMFGGGG
