Gameplay looks like a majorly beefed up version of LoI's with cool up close combat stuff thrown in. LoI felt like a Castlevania to me, and considering God of War came out TWO YEARS LATER, I can definitely still believe the only game ripped off here is in fact Castlevania itself. I've played God of War, and it's a really great game, but hardly as influential as people make it out to be. This game looks to me about as Castlevania as Castlevania can be Castlevania.

The new trailer blew my mind BTW! BLODY TEARS reference, Vampire Killer at the end, all the epic enemies and characters and events in between? MIND BLOWN!!
------------
Return to CastleVania

Fuck your Castlevania this is my dream of my life, my perfect game, it has EVERYTHING, and the best of it: IT'S CASTLEVANIA FOR ME, my favourite saga being the best right now, God bless Dave Cox, God Bless MercurySteam, and God bless me when I got this game, my life ends that night!  ;D

Everything comes full circle

we're told to grab a massive pike of sorts by pressing the right trigger just as the warg leaps towards Gabriel. The quick time event ends and the warg is defeated.

Uhm. Quick time event? I thought Cox said there wouldn't be any.

See that's how I feel, in fact the way I see it it goes like this:

Castlevania started it
Devil May Cry
Ninja gaiden
God of War
Dantes inferno
and comes full circle with Castlevania lords of shadow

So in short Castlevania Lords of Shadow is a ripoff of Castlevania

If the game is set in 1047 then somebody better explain how Cornell is in a game nearly 800 years later  :P

I know, I know...the 2 timelines don't intertwine, and there's always time travel as we've seen in the past, but still  :)

Well, you'll have to take sides here; Do you believe Cornell was in Legacy of Darkness or in Lords of Shadow? You can't have both, lol. Except you can. I'm thinking the LoS Cornell is an ancestor to the LoD Cornell.
(Damn it's hard not to try to connect this game to the rest. I want it to fit, lol!)

Unless it's explained otherwise, we can just pretend that Cornell was much, much older in LoD than we thought  :)

I liked that line because she does actually cry bloody tears in Rondo.

Also just made the connection that Laura is also a Rondo reference. And after playing Bayonetta, I'm not quite as down on QTEs as I was, though I still think they're kinda lazy.

Gametrailers got footage

Gameplay looks fast and I like the way he spams the knives Richter style

And I notice that there is no pointless combo meter saying "Dope" or "Smokin stylin!"

Ok shit.

Those new gameplay videos made me do a complete 360 on my feelings for this game. The action is very fast paced and reminds me of how quick paced the classic games were, that screamed Castlevania to me. As soon as I saw Belmont dodging that Warg and moving very fast I immediately fell in love with this game.

Faith restored. ;__;

Gabes death is pure castlevania. Also, that shot of the horse flying through the air with those askew bridges. Wow.
