Who cares what the ratings are? If the majority of us, the diehards, like it, then that's all that matters. If you like the game, great! Then ratings schmratings   8)  :P Of course I want the game to be a commercial success and be popular amongst general gaming crowds but I think there's lots of importance in Konami hitting it off with the diehards about this game.

Seriously, I'm stoked for LoS. Every video, trailer and screenshot I've seen has me hooked. I can't wait to get my hands on it. 2 months folks!  ;D

I'm waiting for this reborn of the franchise since at least 6 years. So I can't wait October to play it.

But I regret there's still some connexions with the lame and pathetic Igarashi's storyline. I would have prefer a true New entry, without links with all stupid games made by IGA since 2002. But Lords of Shadow will surely be the best thing for the series since...a decade.

I agree with you.  I'd almost think Cox has a sense of humour and has thrown in Olrox and Brauner in these guises "for a laugh", hitting back at some of the fanbase . . .

If this is an instalment in a new timeline though, there could be a grounding appearance of the “first” vampires, progenitors if you like.  You put the big daddies in the game now, in a raw and early guise, and you could do something with each in future?  Just a thought.

I don't really think it's supposed to be the start of a new timeline. I think it'll be a strictly standalone story. Of course, that might change if it garners enough success. But with everything going on in the game, I just feel like they're going to knock out everything in the park plot-wise, not leaving much for a sequel. But I'm just assuming~

So this is an absolutely useless post.

While I like cohesive storylines, Castlevania is better off going the Final Fantasy route. Problem is, Castlevania takes place on earth, with actual dates... Final Fantasy storyline is all over the place/time/universe. But nobody cares that Cid appears in every game, and he's never the same person. Not that I would know anything about this. I lost interest in FF after part VI (though I liked FFIX a lot).

Yeah, the timeline is already restricting IGA a lot. I mean, the only way to get more BELMONT VS DRACULA games would be in the future or in 1999. Of course, you could always retcon CVIII and LoI to have more games in the past, but that's pretty stupid getting rid of CVIII. ;-;

All of them has a completely  different story that more or less held it's own, and entirely complete. They could go that route, and but if they do, they need to have a big backstory for each game... and I doubt they'd do it. Not to mention they probably won't be successful since they already have a story and formula going... changing it now will just mess it up.

Have a guy named "Dracul" as Dracula's predecessor and set it before Lament but without the 100 year rule. Problem fix'd. And its creative!

Best timeline expander ever.

This actually does sound like an awesome plan.

Seems a bit cop-out-y to me. But Castlevania is full of that, so why not?

I think Castlevania already started with cop-outs when IGA said Dracula can half-ressurect.
