Well the composer of the game is primarily a movie composer so I guess that's just his style, but im not complaining about the music as long as he doesn't butcher any of the traditional Castlevania themes.(The Waterfall theme sounded nice from what I've heard)

And when in doubt, there's always custom soundtracks. ;)

My main complaint thus far is that we haven't seen a lot of traditional platforming. No, I don't mean beam balancing or shimmying (which, unless this game revolutionizes the way action characters shimmy, is bound to be boring as hell), I mean just plain old jumping from platform to platform. Shuffling slowly across a ledge is not my idea of a good time in 3D. Otherwise, the game looks fantastic and I can't wait to get my grubby mitts on it.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I agree 100%. I like me some good ol jumping from platform to platform way more than slowly moving along a thin ledge.

If the music sucks that's probably going to sour the experience for me. So far all we've heard is generic orchestra melodies straight from the public library archives.

I sadly fear the same thing.

In other news I preordered the "Limited Edition" version today at GameStop.

Would be nice if Konami released a track from the game to squash my fears. I really want to hear the new Vampire Killer theme, Destructoid teased about it in a preview from earlier this year and said it sounded amazing.

Yeah they said the introduction to CV4 was also in the trailer and was apparently amazing. I want to hear that.

I was really hoping they were talking about Simon's theme but I think they meant this:

I actually like that beginning to CV4.  That music with the fog was always eerie when I watched it late at night right before playing the game.  Probably more or less a nostalgia thing for me, but I still liked it.

Maybe we will, in fact, hear a remix of "Sinking Old Sanctuary" in that level. Personally I think it's been used one too many times, but I guess it could fit.

I didn't even think of that, but you're right - it would fit really well. That area reminds me more of that beginning part of the Greece stage than anything else. Maybe it's the lighting, I don't know.

CE officially includes god mask
October 7th release date in europe
and two "huge DLC pack" with new enemies and levels that picks up where the game ends.
........ That better not be some cliffhanger bullshit.

Details were announced at Konami's Gamescom 2010 live Press Conference, where Dave Cox appeared (with a bad headache apparently, ahem).  I don't think they've got the game on the show floor though, there's no new footage?

Uhm.. I'm not a fan of DLC at all, but if it comes in the CE I guess it's alright. Though why not just put everything in the game from the start? Also, "levels that picks up where the game ends" sounds weird. Like the story in the normal release isn't complete.

They should have just put the game on three disc's then for the 360 for all the content. However they're should be no excuse for the PS3 version since a blu ray disk can hold all of it just fine.

Not a good move Konami, not a good move.
