Whether or not he does end up answering some of our questions here, it's still awesome to have him even sign up on the forum to say hi. Not only say hi, but give us a few secret tidbits AND a badass high res cover pic. (Which I am totally making my desktop background like...right now.)

I recall the Ecclesia and Portrait threads being rather long as well... but I'm not sure if they were 287 pages long.

Mr Cox Greetings! you think produce a new Contra?

A first-person shooter game like Gears of War or Vanquist would be great in a Contra!

I recall Cox saying that he would love to work on a new Contra game at some point. But it might be a lil too late for that.

Also, WTF happened on October 28, 2007 when there was 115 active members online?? Were we playing DXC?

A Contra done Gears of War-style is quite possibly the worst idea I have heard all year. Also, bolding something about Contra in a Castlevania thread when you only have 1 post is very unattractive.

But for the future is not excluded...

The reebot of the Contra series should be a first-person shooter game like Gears of War :)

sorry for the off-topic n_nU

Contra was always about run&gun, not hiding behind pillars and boxes. Also, Gears of War is third person if anything... I'm all for a third person Contra in 3D, but I can think of 1 billion ways more fitting than the Gears route.. It wouldn't be Contra anymore.

Contra and Gears of War just have completely different paces. They're pretty incompatible imo.

Exactly! Duke Nukem 1 and 2 was way better than 3d! Why repeat the same mistake?

The only that really brought people in for Duke 3d was his attitude, and boobs.

Heuss:

Please stick to the topic.  For many pages we've been deviating but at least we have stayed relevant to the thread title.
We do not need irrelevant requests, especially out of the blue.

This is a classic textbook case of thread hijacking.  Please refrain from continuing this, or start a thread at the Gaming Subforum, Hardcore Gaming 101.

I hope I do not have to clean up posts from you, since this almost seems malicious.  I hope I'm wrong, though.

The Contra feeling in Gears of War !

If you're talking about the setting in Gears of War, then yes; Contra could have a bit of that. It would totally fit. As for "run & gun in 2010" - I say YES PLEASE! We've been bombarded with generic First person shooters for way too long. Are you seriously telling me you want to play a Contra game in first person, as in seeing the game world through the eyes of the main character? (again, this is not how it's done in Gears of War, which is a behind-the-shoulder third person shooter.)

Contra is fast and furious, you die from ONE hit. How that would work in a FPS is beyond me. Unless you completely change the Contra formula and turn it into yet another of those generic games I already mentioned. The camera in a Contra game must be zoomed out quite a lot so you can see your surroundings, or else it wouldn't work.

But we really shouldn't be talking about Contra anymore here.

EDIT: Sorry Jorge, I'll stop now.  :-\

Ok, understood. Only I wanted to express a question to mister Cox, but I will not touch any more the topic.
