Well it would make sense that it's Galamoth seeing that he has a lot to do with time.

I once had this idea that Dracula had his own adventures between LoI and CV3...  Where Galamoth is the Dark Lord --a kind of Satan, opposite to God --and Mathias Dracula uses the Crimson Stone to enslave powerful Demon's and eventually challenge him for Hell's Legions, Hell's Throne, and of course "Hell's Demon Castle"...  Galamoth would be perfect a perfect candidate for Reverie's new villain.  Do you suppose the Demon that the Burnharts were involved with, was the original Master of Brauner and Olrox before the became Vampirized?

I've already said this pages ago regarding Galamoth and the Brauner and Olrox were originally his underlings.  Also, I like the idea of what you said for the period between LoI and CV3.  I would love it if such a plot was made into and spread over a few games.

exactly why i'm upsetness. i LOVE the belmont vs dracula (evil in general) take out belmont, and i just lose interest.

My guess is that when Gabriel turns, there is some relative of his or maybe someone else that is raised up in his stead, who is given the surname "Belmont" to honor Gabe's memory. (I'm assuming people wouldn't associate the new vampire Gabriel with the hero Gabriel, as a symbolic death. Kinda like in Fiddler On The Roof, how the father considers his daughter "dead" when she marries a non-Jew.) Even though Gabe's Drac technically, I wouldn't completely count the Belmonts out just yet.

Also, I agree that Galamoth would actually be a pretty awesome boss, provided he's not another crap Titan battle. But the thing is that Satan was never considered God's equal (part of why he's so angry); if Galamoth were in, maybe he'd more properly fit this "Anti-God" bill. It'd work pretty well, as the plot sort of leans towards that dualist aspect with the God and Devil masks. (Hell, all this talk of things having good and evil doubles reminds me of that one Miyazaki movie... Spirited Away? It's kinda given me a new appreciation for the plot.)

I am actually curious to find out what demon the Bernhards got tangled up with - and if it's not Galamoth, then who? And what did they ask for? (I'm guessing the ability for their castle to severely mindfuck potential looters.)

According to vg247 (trailer source) it's march 30  :)

Joystiq just posted the trailer. A Konami rep told them it should be released "around that date," which probably means mid-april.  :P

They're saying $10...I was actually expecting it to be $15.

I hope I don't accidentally DL it from Xbox Live instead of the Playstation Store. I bet I will.  :-\
It's like Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, but instead it's Who Wants Fried Chicken? I do.

That's a really nice pic of ol' Galamoth there Heuss! The Egyptian-Esq mixed in with the demonic does make for quite a good mix. but i never ever thought of him as being reptilian. Since SotN, I've always seen him as something like Anubis, but that was before I played Kid Dracula so I guess your pic is correct.

Hypothesis:

The three lords before ascension, fought this great monster. Perhaps the ascension was done to seal it or a direct result of it. So we got to see their past forms and will probably be told this story about them. The lords that remained, maintained the seal perhaps? Maybe that was their reason for leaving behind such powerful evil counter parts to begin with.

Recall that the lords had a piece of the god mask in their possession. If Zobek was telling the truth, which seems very plausible, the lords each took a third of this power and never cooperated with one another, then perhaps the masks, being in the pillars of light, were the devices which kept this creature sealed in the castle. They never cooperated in joining them together because that would release this evil monster. Zobek being Death itself however has no concern for what happens in this world, since he (possibly) cannot die either way. The other two are very mortal as we've seen and have MUCH more to fear about losing the mask pieces and releasing such a monster. It would stand to reason that this monster is more powerful than all three lords combined, putting a good deal of fear into not wanting it unsealed. This would also make more sense in the flow of gameplay and story, to have to fight something more powerful than any of the lords, and perhaps even on par or surpassing Satan's power on Earth.

As far as Satan's goals go, this monster wouldn't hold much weight after he would have powered up with the mask, so that clears any sort of conflict of interest and plot holes there. Despite this, I doubt it was Satan's goal to conquer this beast. More so he wanted to conquer God. At that point this sealed beast wouldn't be much of a threat anyway. It would just be an added bonus.

The beast may even be a previous attempt at Satan's bid for ruling the Earth, or challenging God. The mask could have been created to thwart such evil in the first place. One done, it was split into three for protection, and used to hold the beast in a seal. An ironic sense that Satan would come to covet this same mask to try and challenge God himself.

In this way it makes the lords that necessary evil. Protecting the Earth from befalling an even greater one.

Thoughts?

Haha, yeah. I thought of it based on the recent Galamoth speculations. It would surely make more sense for the flow of raising threats, and tie in all the bits and pieces together.

One problem with your theory:  Cornell stated that the founders simply wanted to purify themselves and ascend to heaven to serve God directly.  The problem is that when they did so, instead of purifying themselves, they actually fractured their souls into good and evil, and while their good selves ascended, their evil sides remained in their bodies, transforming them into monsters, and thus the Lords of Shadow were born.

Then again, Cornell could have left out a few details.

I just had a thought today. Remember the two corpses that are seen in the ending? Slogra and Medusa. It would make sense if they were the two DLC bosses. That would make sense, Slogra could be the sealed demon and Medusa the notorious enemy.
