I wrote my ideas for how to get the Belmont-Drac fued kickstarted about 15-20 pages back...but part of my idea is already null and void considering Gabe shattered the combat cross at the end of Resurrection.  So now we have to wonder two things....where will the human Belmont line come from, and where will the REAL Vampire Killer whip come from?

As always with this series...there's TONS of potential for this new storyline....IF these guys at Mercurysteam get their proper Castlevania feet beneath them.  Kill the Middle Earth shtick and stop being afraid to dig into this series' genetic past in order to create something new and fresh.  One doesn't have to kill the old Castlevania to give birth to the next one.  All it takes....is some imagination.

So, Lords of Shadow serves as a history of the main antagonist of future "Castlevania games"? Or we are going to play with the bad guy from this game on? I can think in Legacy of Kain Defiance, where you can play with both hero (or antihero) and main villian. But, for a Castlevania game, I prefer the old and classic (and true) stuff.

As for the Forgotten One fight/plot...

The stage is good, and the same is for the platforming. The fight was really awesome. But, for a Castlevania game, no thanks... After read that some of us in this forums wants or expect more crazy plot twists, old games reinvented (like the Trevor one), ideas for a sequel, I just have to say that this is the end for the Castlevania saga as we know, and the welcome to a new one. Sad. I still prefer the old/classic one. Where you only fight Dracula and nothing else. Because, in future sequels of LoS, the main villian will be Dracula? Or we are goint to see Satan again? Two main villians? And, why to control you a character, if he are going to be the main villian in your game? I simply don´t like it. Somebody yes, but I don´t.

I don´t like the ending. But I was expecting such an ending. But, all that you get in your trial are going to be innecesary in the next games? Or Rinaldo are going to make the same weapons again? I can imagine, Dracula saying to the next (I hope) true Belmont: "I was once have a weapon like yours. You cannot beat me, because I know your techniques. And all the enemies that you fight, I fight them too in the past. Now we are friends. What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets!!!!"

Thanks a lot, pal. It´s good to know that I am not the only one here :D.

As for LoS Resurrection, I hope the next Castlevania ones have a true Belmont, but if MS wants to create a true reboot, don´t use obvius references to older games. I mean, have confidence in make a good and nice new plot, with all new names, having respect only for the name Belmont, Dracula, and of course, Castlevania :).

You know now that it's all over(for now?) on one hand, I actually don't want the LOS saga to continue. I want MS to end it there so that they don't piss off anymore CV fans anymore than they've already have( and they pissed off alot especially here from what I see)

One the otherhand, As average as the story is, I wanna see it through the end. Plus I still think Mercurysteam has great potential and with the proper guidance of both fans and people who know what makes Castlevania so great, they COULD make a great 3D Castlevania game.

So here hoping for Gamescom for another LOS game.

I watched a play-through on Youtube and didn't really care for it. Maybe because I wasn't playing it, but I found the whole thing to be rather anti-climactic. Gabe's descent still feels incredibly rushed to me. I'm not too interested in seeing where MS takes this. They'll have to win me back for the sequel.

Though I really enjoyed the "Enough talk! Have at you!" line.

That was absolutely dreadful.

It was shorter than Reverie and it had absolutely nothing to do with Castlevania. I'm neither disappointed or happy about the conclusion of this game, this is just a very dumb reboot in general.

I'm pretty glad I sold my copy now, what an incredibly weird experience this has all been. I feel like I gained absolutely nothing from all of this.

It's ok, it's all over, MS wont be hurting Castlevania anymore. Don't worry, our savior will come, he will come to deliver us.

IGA wasnt exactly that great at 3Dvania... Lament was good, but in all honesty, could have been better.

CoD was.. weird. I liked Hector better when his name was "Alucard." The Devil system just felt out of place too, and it further cemented that pretty much ANYBODY can defeat Dracula. Im waiting for the one where a simple werewolf fights and def- oh. Right. Er. Classic Dracula was just a damn Chewtoy. I dont know why they made such a big thing out of Vampire Killer when anybody can beat Dracula.

I find that loS was the best vania to date. despite what ones opinions on it may bem gameplay wise, it is far better than Lament or CoD.

that said, I smiled when i heard "Enough talk, have at you".

As well as when i heard Gabriel talk of "the Dragon" and then describe himself as "the Dragon".

Yep. Eu Sunt Dracul alright.

Who would you prefer make or reboot the series besides IGA then?
