but it's a pain to have to drag out the old PS2 and deal with the wired controller and play it on the HD screen without upconverted graphics.
Once you move on from a controller, it's kinda awkward to return to an older controller and get the feel of it back. I feel the same with the NES and SNES controllers, which, IMO, feels too small now.

As for the graphics on HD, that's likely due to the graphics not being that good to begin with. There are some PS2 games that have great graphics. MGS3 and FFXII, to name a few. Those graphics are almost boarderline lower res PS3 worthy. A lot of the early PS3 games look like a step or two above those PS2 games(with more HD models and texture mapping). I kinda wonder if the PS2 CVs graphics were a result of the team(IGA's team) unable to pull out all the PS2's graphical potental OR the tight budget that only allowed for basic/no-frills graphics. Like I said in an other thread, I doubt it's anything to do with the use of music, VA cut scenes or CG movies. Because there were games that had MORE of all those aspects than the PS2 CV games, yet maintained high res graphics for their time.

I'm just irritated that they don't let you play PS2 games on the PS3 unless you go buy a real old one.  But I'd be happy to pay for the 2 CVs a second time if I could run them off the harddrive.  I'm so lazy.  The PS2 used to take a "permanent" spot in my living room, but now the PS3 has taken over that spot and I have to drag out the PS2 temporarily to play a PS2 game, lest I simply get too many consoles hooked up at the same time.  The PS2 needs to be close enough to my projector to connect to it, and close enough to the chair to be able to play it and as a result sits halfway in between the two on the floor when being played.  The PS3 nicely fixed that situation, but it was rude enough not to play PS2 games, so I get irked that I still have to deal with that situation (and 3rd party wireless controllers suck).  Plus, the PS2 used to have the S-Video permanently connected to the projector when it was the "main" console, but now that I only have it out some of the time, it's a real pain to try to fit those pins in and readjust the projector (which is essentially in a cubby-hole so you have to take it out if you want to readjust the connections in the back), so I'm too lazy for that all the time and downgraded my video quality to composite video going through my vcr instead of S-Video straight to the projector most the time (a significant drop in video quality).  The PS2 is normally on a smaller tv, but when I want to play CoD or LoI, it's gotta be on the projector.

I hope one day the PS3 will be able to be somewhat on par with the Wii as far as the number of Castlevania games it can play, so that in addition to SotN and Chronicles, we'd be able to play LoI, CoD, maybe DXC, and then LoS and the new Alucard game assuming that's still in the making.  In a perfect world, I could play every castlevania game ever made by just having a Wii and PS3 hooked up.  I hope they never make an XBox360 exclusive Castlevania game.

There is a new article.

http://www.hookedgamers.com/x360/castlevania_lords_of_shadow/preview/article-608.html

Grating soundtracks? Were they playing the same games as I was? I hate the 3D games as much as the next person, but that makes the writer look like an idiot.

Only new info (I think) is that his wife is killed by a werewolf specifically.
The dream reveals the reality, which conception lags behind. That is the horror of life - the terror of art.

I agree. If there's one thing that the 3D 'Vanias did right, it's the music. The CoD soundtrack is a friggin masterpiece, and LoI is not far behind IMO.

It's obvious they're going with the 3d cv hate. I didn't pay as much attention to music in the newer cvs but I don't remember them being bad.

The guy hasn't even played or seen the game. I don't even know why David Cox posted it.

That's like us posting a preview of the game, we don't know crap the only thing this guy saw is the trailer....

Lame.

Unfortunately, considering our (yes, I also agree with You) opinion about article, I am almost sure author just thinks she will be killed by one because of the trailer.

the author also says there's a HUGE ice field near the beginning of the game... was anything ever said about that? I don't remember... Sure there's the Ice Titan in the trailer and some screenshots, but I didn't know exactly where that particular area was - near the beginning or towards the end, or just somewhere inbetween?

Actually, has to do with developer commentary - and has been posted by more than just myself.

I'm sorry about my comment then. But still I'll think about this information as about one of many possibilities. Who knows what will bring the finished game. :)
