the [insert anything LoS-related] doesn't look like Castlevania at all to me, but I don't really care at this point.
^inside joke :P

Yeah, the graphics look good (no surprise there), but god damn, show us a platforming vid already. I don't care if it's 10 seconds long. I wanna see some meat on LoS' bones.

I just noticed this:

People say that LOS looks like TLOTR... I can't deny that but I like it  :)

Everything comes full circle

I don`t like the screenshots and the goblins look like joke. The only thing I liked is the snowy graveyard and the design of the main character. Other things look like it is another game entirely, nothing to do with CV.

I'm a pretty go with the flow kinda guy but these enemies are not doing it for me.

Also, it seems as though they slimmed Gabriel down a bit. I approve!

I'm ok with most of the enemies for now, but I need to see some more "classic" enemies to bring my spirits up about this thing.
I agree about the goblins being a bit too much. I wouldn't mind them if they didn't look like they came out of the D&D arcade games or King of Dragons. Maybe if they were remodeled into lizard men I'd like them better.

Wygol cemetary? Wygol? Just like Sq town? whis is getting interesting... WHAT THE HELL I¡'M FREAKED OUT!
Wasn't Wygol the town in OoE? Looks like Cox is keeping some series consistancies as far as locations are concerned. The fact he chose that town over, say, Jova or Aljiba, is interesting in itself.

And yeah, I don't care for the Uruk-hai goblins. LotR inspiration is good for fantasy RPGs like D&D or Everquest. I really wanna see classic enemies. Medusa heads, zombies, maybe even bone pillars. There Werewolves and Waurgs are great, though.

Seeing all these images, i can say that the goblins are horrible for Castlevania enemies and they look more like they came from lord of The Rings, but the light effectes are very impressive, i like the  way that the shadows are appearing on the wall!!!!

Hi everyone! first time poster, long time Castlevania fan :)

Anyway's those screenshots and artwork do look good (especially Wygol Cemetary) but I wish they would show us some more familiar enemies like Medusa Heads or even a Skeleton warrior to reassure us that this is a Castlevania game.

Also I have a feeling that those Goblins (or Fleaman ) are going to  be very annoying.

I think everyone should just get used to it. This is how NEW Castlevania is gonna look. Not long ago people were complaining that sprites and enemies were being reused over and over, and now they're complaining that they don't recognize anything. I agree there must be some kind of middle road here, but I think it looks good. I do not approve wholeheartidly of the goblin design, but I don't really hate it either. It's just different. Castlevania is being reborn, deal with it!  ;D

And as i've said before be appreciative an actual fan of classicvania games is in control of this game. All our complaints of the past castlevania games are being answered. WE ARE FINALLY GETTING PLATFORMS!

I think this is a pretty good view to have, actually. The change isn't necessarily bad, it's just different. That being said, if I don't see any skeletons in this game, I'm going to be a little pissed. I'm fine with new enemies as long as some old ones are still in there.

Nice to see some new screens. OK, I'm happy to see that Gabriel's model is looking more proportionate, and I like some of the screens (like the one by the tomb and the one with the platform swinging) and some of the art, as well. However...those goblins aren't doing it for me, and I'm not getting too hyped up by and large by the overall atmosphere. Maybe that's best, though, in that it will catch me off guard. As long as there are enough classic elements, I suppose these areas will be a nice change of pace. To be continued...

I actually never had a problem with the recycled enemy graphics. There really aren't many other games that do that sort of thing anyway. And while I agree we should get used to this game having a very different artistic style, that's no reason to just be complacent when a genuine problem is perceived.

I'm fine with new enemies, too. However, a new enemy should look new, not like it came from somewhere else. I have no problem with goblins either, but they shouldn't look so generic. I think that's exactly the problem in this particular case. It's not that they won't fit in with Castlevania, it's that they could fit into just about any fantasy game with no problem.

I'm so annoyed by this BS. No offense but i've done various posts in this topic proving the "ART STYLE" isn't all that different from previous games. The only main difference being theres more variety this time! They still have those dark gloomy environments that are trademarks among the series except now they have snowy locations, jungle LOCATIONS ( EVEN THO THERE IS ONE IN SUPER CASTLEVANIA 4 ..people seem to forget) and etc..etc..

Its like some people turn a blind eye we even had those little orc thingies in Curse of darkness shooting arrows and crap. So why is it okay for other games but in this game you try to make a big deal out of it?

We finally are getting a wonderful environments with some actual interesting things going on and we complain because theres some areas we aren't used to?

for christs sakes we had a castlevania in the future and yet people complain about stuff like this! boggles my mind....
