So, you are complaining about LOTR-like goblins in the new 'vania? I don't think that Castlevania's bestiary has any particular cohesive property to exclude this kind of enemy. As a matter of fact, Castlevania is the most uncompromised monster game in the sense they can add virtually any creature from any mythology they want. God of War, for instance, sticks to greek mythology, but Castlevania has no need to do such a boring thing. The important thing is to HAVE evil, not where the evil comes from. If there's a word to define Castlevania's vast and occasionally contradictory bestiary, that word is "wacky". The underlying reason to be bothered here is that they can do the opposite, to restrict Castlevania's creatures into LOTR conventions. And THIS really kind of sucks: no more mummies, no more greek/horror cinema stuff, no more weird IGA cryptozoology stuff and ultimately: no more skeletons in motorcycles! =(
