Yeah I overrreacted it as always :P of course I want traditional platforming, I just don't like to be like "Yeah, great thing but it's not this one". If a vid has non-traditional platforming, great why whine about, you know, the other 23.5 hours of the game we haven't seen yet?
Stop overreacting!  :)

But, I agree with those clamoring for more footage of platforming. It's well aware that THAT is what most CV fans been wanted in a 3D CV title, good platforming. Even more so because IGA's 3D CVs failed to deliver. Cox, I don't doubt, knows this all too well. Hence most CV fans are wanted to see if Cox is able to deliver on this front. And all we need to quench this thirst is a demo that proves that Cox acomplished our dreams.

But yeah, there's a lot of vertical areas seen in past footage, but there's way too much shimmying, not enough platforming.

Swinging with the whip looks so damn fun. Lots of Uncharted in the level design, but I have yet to see any traditional platforming. Wow, you sure can die a lot from falling from high heights, even when it isn't a bottomless pit.

"GO AND FIND SOME STUFF BRING IT BACK HERE"

Well there's our backtracking.

Looking alright so far. Can't say I was really feeling any "Castlevania" from the footage though, but that could be due to the techno music in the background of that video. Gabriel is also a really big guy, goddamn.

Not really digging the slow platforming segments. Ledges look slow and uninteresting. Needs more traditional platforming elements I believe.

It seems like every video I see of this game, the players really suck. I mean, they weren't missing jumps, they were just falling.

I predict that the game doesn't have any traditional platforming (almost).

Hey, is the newest footage like the Clocktower level footage from a while back? (lots of Shadow of the Colossus/Prince of Persia hanging, sidling, and arm-hopping up ledges) I think that Clocktower one was being played by someone who made the game, and they were having lots of difficulty with navigating environment, which gave me questions about the camera and controls. Also, in the Clocktower, the swinging over gaps looked pretty automatic and reminiscent of Rygar for PS2 and Wii--has it become more involved since then? I'm not expecting it to be as advanced as the the 3D Bionic Commando, but does it look more engaging than just a button press?

Hi there. I'm the guy who played the clocktower level seen in the footage you are mentioning. Sorry about that :) You may find interesting to know that there was a random delay between my inputs with the gamepad and the corresponding action in-game, apparently due to technical reasons not related to the game or the console, but to the video signal. We realized about it when it was too late, so it was near to impossible to play that day, but theater was full of people, and I got to keep playing until the end of the event.

About new footage with climbing stuff I wasn't there but I can tell you whoever was playing was not aware of the mechanics of the game. Even the simplest ones.

To sum up, there is nothing wrong with controls nor the camera. I found necessary you know it first hand.

Thx

Just like I thought, thanks for posting that :)
Reminds me of Shigeru Miyamoto demostrating Zelda: Skyward Sword at E3, lol. It must be frustrating when technology fails you during an important demo.

Question; Will we hear some more music from the game before launch? I think many of us are really curious to hear more!

I would love to hear some music before launch, if at all possible, a sneak peek of the new Vampire Killer theme perhaps?

Good video. I loved platfroming, even if it is not "traditional".
And I liked story bits. Claudia and Dark Knight look interesting.
And I loved those paintings (?) - flashbacks.

Oh I was just suspicious because the Clocktower video had a guy from the dev team playing it, and even then, there were a bunch of lousy deaths. But Dtritus cleared that up so I'm more confident in the controls.

How could you like more the plastic mask than the artbook in the CE? I think the art would be just unvaluable! it's really beautiful  :)

Everything comes full circle

I'm not too fond of the artstyle to begin with. It's just very boring. The book will most likely contain random concept art of forests & ruins, and a few monster designs here 'n there.

The only pieces of LoS art I like is the one with Gabe swinging the Combat Cross with his back towards us, & the one where he has long curly hair.
