Maybe it just so happened to be winter there?
Or, if it is a spell, it might be the kind that remains active even if the person who casted it is destroyed.  Also, we don't even know if she is the one who casted it.  Given that in the first part of the DLC, you go after an evil that was being suppressed by her, it could have been that entity that created the harsh endless winter.

I'm not too fond of the idea of Laura siring Dracula; I was fine with her being Carmilla's plaything but she was a loose end in the story so I could see why they want to wrap that up, but if they make her the one to turn Gabe "just because" then that would be kinda lame IMO.

I picture Gabe using the powers of the God/Devil mask for himself, similar to how Mathias used the power of the Crimson Stone on himself.

That could be what happens, or the battles in the DLCs could turn him.  Remember, everytime Gabe killed a significant boss like the Black Knight or one of the lords of shadow, he gained a relic and new power.  And given that he lost his light magic after the battle with Satan, the shadow magic he still has may be what turns him in the end.

I agree with Crisis that the idea of Laura siring Dracula is a horrible idea.  I believe that should be the use and/or abuse of the relics and shadow magic that turns him.

Maybe it was that "unruly evil" that's responsible for Gabe's transformation.

And yeah, Laura turning Gabe would be lame as hell. Dracula is supposed to be the all powerful prince of darkness, It would suck if it turns out that he was just another human stricken with a mild case of vampirism.

After having recently played God of War 2, it just makes me even sadder that LoS turned out the way it did. Maybe things will mix up a little now that Laura appears playable.

I want simon to look like he did in his classic getup i.e. Conan the barbarian. And playable without all the enemy grinding.

Nagumo, I was only pointing out that you were complaining about the icy elements yet you have a snowgirl as your avatar.  That's all.  It just seems ironic.

I got the irony. No worries.

Unless there's some story twist where Gabe MUST turn into a vampire in order to... dunno... save Laura or someone or something. Erh.. I can see it happening.

Laura: I cannot do it! You have been kind to me!
Gabriel: You must, or else all will be lost! BITE ME!

Haha, oh dear. I don't want that....  :-X

I hope that doesn't happen...but Reverie does involve time travel, apparently. One of the artwork assets refers to one of the clock areas in fact being a time machine.

Maybe you visit the Vampire Castle when Frankenstein and the Bernhards resided there?

And so we can see the three lords in their human forms? excuse me, but I think it's a mess :P
I don't thing Gabriel was turned into a vampire, I think it was a seondary effect of having absorbed the powers of the three Lords, that's what makes Dracula, he has reign over all dark creatures (or most of them)

I think Gabriel will end up in Ressurection fighting a lord of shadow version of himself, which will be, in turn, to be Dracula... but thats just my thought and i think it would be bad ass too for him to fight Dracula! And Dracula better not be anything like he was in a bunch of other castlevania games, he better be tough as hell and i better die alot!
Dear Konami. Where is my Castlevania?

yeah, no more of the old teleport/fireball routine.  Probably more like the second phase of the fight in OoE when he actually starts to lunge at and grab you.

Woa I never thought about that. What if Gabriels two halves fight each other and then Dracul wins and so it possesses Gabriel's body?
