Castlevania Figures..

Hi all, long time fan/viewer/lurker, first time poster.

Why is there such little info about these figures, and why is everything such a big mystery?! I want a proper release date, not just "October, sometime..." and where are they going to be sold? I read that article last week that said there's a special Simon figure that will make fans happy, but it's rare. How can we hunt for these if we don't know where they're being sold...?!

anybody else frustrated?

Yes I was getting very frustrated.  I gave up and ordered them from Cornerstone.  At least I have them reserved now.  There seemed to be no information on them...

It's just bad business...they want us to buy there product, but where? I'm assuming that because Succubus has a removable top that they can't be sold in Toys R Us or KB Toys...but they want us to hunt for these rare figures in stores, as if they were obtainable in every toy store.

*sigh*

Well, TRU and KB do not carry NECA products, only speciality shows like comic shops, Hot topic, and Virgin Records do.  Most ppl order NECA stuff online because of the recent closure of a lot of stores that once carried toys made by NECA and SOTA

the point is that we won't be able to track down the rare Simon or Dracula rarity figures.

Yea that really does suck.  I was interested when they mentioned that variant Dracula, but the odds of me getting one are pretty low.

I hope they make more figures and don't think it's from lack of interest.  It's hard for people to support them if they make it near impossible to buy them.

They made that Simon rare so people would hunt for him.  It's a pretty normal thing to do as a toy collector.  Also, since it's a variant, only the die hard fans/collectors will be going after it.  I know I'll be getting it.  I've pre-ordered two sets of the figures already.  If it doesn't come with them then I'll check out the stores around that carry NECA stuff.  If it's not there, then I'll go to ebay.  If you really want that figure, there's plenty of ways to get it.

true. but it's frustrating to have to search every hot topic in america to find these rare figures. It'd be nice if NECA provided a few retail locations that sell their figures, along with a proper store release date.

I agree there should be a release date Sadly it probably wouldn't help since NECA is notoriously late with figures.  But the hunting is part of the collecting.  Every time a new wave of Marvel Legends or GI Joes comes out I usually have to hit seven Walmarts, two Targets, a Big Lots, and three Toys R Us.  Maybe I'm just used to it, but the hunt is part of the fun for me.

Also, If you are worried that you won't have the opportunity to find a figure, maybe those of us who are going to collect them could network a little on the board here.

I know at leasts a few especially stores that carry NECA figures, problem is that they all tend to overprice their figures well above the MSRP. Which may not be bad since it'd probably be cheaper than paying from overpriced goods and waiting for them to arrive.

Now if we only had a solid release date.

I preordered the complete set from http://www.amazingtoyz.com right after the figures were first shown.  Have any of you guys also preordered from these guys? If so, please let me know if you have heard anything from them.

When I spoke with the people I ordered with they said late October.  So I am expecting them next week.
