Draculas included, what do you think is the coolest boss ever, in terms of design, or how epic the battle was. The two games with the best roster IMO are Harmony of Dissonance and Dawn of Sorrow.

5. Adremelech (super badass, and hard. Awesome design)
4. *TIE* Beezelbub (just incredibly creepy)/Legion Corpse (the atmosphere, the screaming skeleton with the wiggly head. It's all so awesome)
3. Gergoth (super epic battle. Cool design)
2. Balore *aria* (great buildup. hard. menacing)
1. *TIE* Abbadon (awesome atmosphere, great design)/ Paranoia (Sweet concept. Great battle)
Go. Set Forth! Both your own life and hers are at stake.

The fight with Julius in Aria of Sorrow was the best boss experience I've yet to have with the series. Everything about it was amazing- the scenero and buildup, the fight mechanics, the huge spontaneous vacuum-cross cracking off a part of the castle and Julius whipping out the classic subweapons afterwards, etc.

I too think the Julius boss conflict was also very epic.  :)

Indeed... it was awesome. Humanoid enemies are usually the best, and boss versions are always cool.

That is becouse he is holding back :)
He says so after the fight. So it is true :P

Love that fight. But my fav fight must be Eligor, the reason being that it have to be done differently. Most other bosses you just hack away at the boss. With Eligor, you have to get past and climb up on him to be able to hurt him. Kinda like Shadow of Collossus.
I was totaly blown away first time I fought him.

I don't have my most favourite boss battle, but final fight in Portrait of Ruin was perfect. It's full of atmosphere (with classical feel in it), it's challenging and design of enemies and attacks is great. I couldn't imagine a better final boss fight for twentieth anniversary game in the series.

I have to vote for fighting Soma-cula, while playing as Soma, in DoS. It can only be done after doing a complicated glitch, so very few people have actually done it.

That makes it THE coolest boss fight:)

i don't know if these are the coolest, but i'm most fond of the early bosses in Symphony of the Night and Legacy of Darkness, probably since i've replayed them the most and they're so classic now.

one that deserves mention is the Sea Dragon in Legacy of Darkness.  the atmosphere of being in the lower deck of a ghost ship and then having that thing puncture the ship and fill up with water.  and then having to fight that thing.  pure awesomeness.

then there's the giant ape skeleton in LoD and C64.  its just such a fun dumb giant boss to have to take down.

then there's Slogra and Gaibon from SotN.  i had fun fighting them in as many ways as possible, and you can fight them early when you're not leveled up in a constricted spot if you dare too.  they were uber epic at the end of Castlevania 64 when you also add Death to the mix.

Nobody mentioned the Slogra/Gaibon/Death fights right before Dracula in SCIV? Tsk tsk tsk.
