It looks pretty grim.  I hope it doesn't detract from Lords of Shadow.

On IGA and budgets: I'm not sure this budget excuse is going to wash every time.  Smaller games have been made and shown great innovation.  Just check out some of the indie games on Xbox Live for instance.  I think there's just a wall at the moment, it's like a period/slump in a football game, where the manager just cannot inspire his team or come up with anything new.  It's probably why Michiru felt she had to explore new avenues.

I had hoped IGA would be doing something completely NEW, outside of Castlevania, but he's still got a toe in there.

(edit: of course all will probably be forgiven by many if there's a new stonker of a CV revealed on the 3DS later today . . . however . . . the warning signs are here)

I call it Remix of Despair. At least we know IGA is not gone. I hope this is only a side project, and he is really making a secret kick-ass 3DS Castlevania game!

One hour left until Nintendo`s conference at E3!

Yeah, IGA's really starting to lose control...and his fans too.

From rllmuk, on Konami's 3DS possibilities:

KONAMI
Baseball franchise
Contra franchise
Frogger franchise
HIDEO KOJIMA’S METAL GEAR SOLID SNAKE EATER 3D
“The Naked Sample”
PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER franchise /
WINNING ELEVEN franchise

Can't see Castlevania there yet.  Nintendo conference had a lot of technical problems (Zelda), but easily overrode the poor MS effort.  I'm warming more to Metroid now.

Oh what the FUCK.

This is the BIGGEST hunk of SHIT I have EVER witnessed coming from Konami. No exception.

If its true that IGA was in charge of this abomination, I'm sorry I ever defended him.

Fuck you Konami for even approving this shit. Fuck you IGA for even thinking this was a good idea. I congratulate you in that as a very long time fan of the series this will be the first Castlevania game I cannot bring myself purchase. Go die in a fire, and let MercurySteam handle things from now on.

So how does it feel to be assraped?

Some of you guys are taking this shit WAY too seriously. "OMG FUCK IGA ARGHH MY LIFE IS RUINED"

I'm not liking this direction either (funny how only those in the hardcore CV community are complaining, everyone else seems fine with it), but it's not a big-budget title anyway so I won't get all shitfaced pissed off about it. lol.

Yeah, it's just a downloadable little remix of the DS games, not the end of the world. It would've been different if came with box and instructions and cost $65.

The game doesn't look like anything I'll be playing, but maybe IGA has a REAL game up his sleeve too. This is just distraction before the next handheld CV comes out on 3DS. I'm guessing we'll hear all about it on Tokyo Game Show later this year.

interesting that they have special areas where you can switch your equipment.  i've actually wanted that for a while now and on replays often only allow myself to change items when i'm at a save point or when i collect the item.  i am really tired of having a giant arsenol with exactly what i need for any situation.  miss the good ole days where all you had was one subweapon and you just had to make the best due with the one you happened to have.

Yeah, its just a download title that completely insults the intelligence of every fan of the series. No need to tarnish the series' already declining image, right? Right??

Castlevania use to be a title associated with the highest quality of its given generation and console choice. If they aren't going to make a good game, I'd rather they not make one at all. This game cant even look in the same direction as "good", for if it did, it would burn up like a vampire at 12 noon.

So yes, they did completely assrape the entire fan base with this sorry excuse for a "game".

Hmmm... but we haven't played it yet. It's impossible to know if it's good or not. All we know is that the game looks like ass. But maybe it's a funny ass.

I agree with Shelverton. I'm not holding out much hope, but in the worst-case scenario, my expectations will be met. Best case, I'll be pleasantly surprised. :D

This article says there will be additional characters and levels down the road.  Maybe by then they will have taken the time to bring Juste Belmont's sprite up to DS standards?  Or maybe it's just be alternate characters like Julius, Yoko, Albus etc?  It also marks it as $15.

I'm looking forward to hearing Iga speak again at E3.  I'm sure there'll be a few interesting interviews with some juicy questions.  I'm sure the Alucardvania will come up a couple times and we might be able to finally mark the game as "canceled" and move on.
