This game has brand new artwork for each character, but Adventure ReBirth gets nothing?!

Even Akumajo Dracula THE ARCADE had character art   ???

Holy crap, that doesn't look too bad.

I know, I'm surprised myself! This game could be fun, if I can find other people to play it with, that is.

How can you folks be serious? The game looks as awful and slapped-together as ever.

Wow, it's like looking into the subconscious of IGA's state of mind in game form.

I'll still play it but man.. :-\

The DS games looked great, and this looks exactly like them. Just because the 360 is capable of much better graphics doesn't mean the DS games suddenly look awful. I have totally changed my mind about this game. Also, it's a budget title so what did you expect? I cannot stress that enough - it's not a full-blown Castlevania sequel, nor is it the future of the franchise. If things goes as planned, Castlevania will from now on be a big budget series of stylish 3D games, so I'm glad there's even room for little 2D experiments like this.

It's recycling bosses, whole rooms, characters, enemies, and a whole mess of other assets directly from the DS games on a grand scale. Hell, the game REVOLVES around this shit, instead of just dipping into the reserve occasionally as previous IGA Castlevanias did.

This is unacceptable. Time would be much better spent pumping out another Rebirth-styled game.

I choose to look at it this way: I've played through the DS games, and now I get the chance to download new/remixed/extended levels and play through them in a completely different way, on my HDTV. It's like downloadable content, nothing wrong with that. It's just on a completely different hardware, that's all.

I agree on the Rebirth bit, but who's to say that's something Konami would let IGA do again? Seemingly, he didn't even want to make Judgement a fighting game, but Konami made him do it. Given his position, I don't doubt even giving him SOMETHING CV related is like throwing him a bone.

But yeah, I DO think this looks cool. The only thing they could've touched up were the character sprites. I think it would be killer if they touched them up like that one Encore game(where they basically remade all the character sprites HD-esque). THAT would be awesome. The backgrounds, at least in the video, as I said, look great(surprisingly). They look more HD than the GBA/DS versions, and have a very polished look. That's why I said they look better than SotN, because, they are pretty damn good. At least I think so.

I honestly don't think there was little to no budget given to this game. Seriously. It doesn't look so bad in motion those. I hate when it zooms out so far, I'll admit, but it doesn't look like it'll be that bad of a downloadable game.

wow, that got me pumped a little bit.  found myself waiting in anticipation for Gergoth to spew beams through walls at players.  this is the first time i recall have multiple color schemes to choose from for a Castlevania game.  i'm curious to see how they turn out, i imagine there would have to be six colors if everyone wanted to play the same character.  if its true that its nigh-impossible to defeat the bosses alone, then i guess i'll just have to beg some friends to come over and help me defeat them.  and what the heck, puppet master spans and can reach into multiple rooms?  it'll be interesting to see how that works.

i consider a game like HoD to be basically a game created with a set of lego blocks.  i'm curious to see how the creators put all the pieces together.

dang, if i want to buy all this years CV games, I'll have to spend $200 for an iPod touch and $200 or whatever it is for an XBox 360.   heh, if i'm gonna get an xbox, i'll be able to play as Kokoro Belmont in Otomedius Excellent too.  i bought the PS3 as soon as I found out LoS was a CV game after E3 09.

It's cool how Jonathan and Charlotte actually have some decent artwork now. Well, there were bonus artwork pieces in which they looked awesome but you know what I'm talking about.  :-X

but it doesn't look like it'll be that bad of a downloadable game.

Then you don't play many XBL Arcade games.

I'm going with corneliab's complaint that it's literally engineered from the ground up with existing assets without a single original location or enemy.  It's a lazy fanhack being sold as a licensed product, and what makes it especially idiotic is that they're marketing it as some BlazBlue-esque HIGH DEFINITION 2D EXPERIENCE when they're using undetailed, tiny ass GBA/DS sprites of all things to represent the characters.  The zoom-out feature is less beneficial to the player and more like a convenient way for Konami to hide the piss poor graphical quality.  And the "But it's only a budget game" thing doesn't cut it since CV ReBirth is actually an original game and probably costs something equivalent to the amount of MS Point Harmony of Despair will cost.

I think it looks fun. The music sounded pretty cool too from the short clip. CV games have been reusing assets for years, and I still like them. Besides, this is just a side project, not like it's a full game or anything. If I had a 360 I'd get this in a heartbeat.

Actually, that's practically all I use the XB360 for, since I refuse to play mandane after mandane shooter and have my PS3 for everything else. :). As I said: it doesn't look so bad, considering it's a downloadable title and probably won't cost much. Could more effort have been put in to it? Oh hell yes. was there money given to the project for it to have been better. I seriously wonder...

Im willin to bet IGA spent quite a few "private meetings" on his knees just to get the go ahead for this at all much less any budget. With LoS comin from a completely different team hes not even part of Im pretty sure hes on his last continue at the helm of the series
