Yoko can spam her lightning magic like crazy.....multiple hits ftw....but I didn't buy her, so all I saw on screen was axe armor doing magical stuff.

Julius on the other hand is pretty awesome, shame his whip seems as weak as Jonathan's.

Wait what? You see Axe Armor for the characters you don't buy?

All the more reason to not buy Maria.

I'm going to hop on and get both in a little bit. Maybe the music packs too. If not today, tomorrow probably.

Any pure Castlevania fan would appreciate the graphics, I mean, these graphics are pretty much what people have grown accustomed to over the past years of Castlevania.  They really don't age.
When somebody throw arguments like "pure / true fan" around it practically make their argument worthless. It means that you truly couldn't find serious argument to proove your point and throw some abstract "true fan" argument around.

And as for me any normal fan of the Castlevania want to have new graphics after all this years of unimaginative and cheap recycling. Because some of them really do age and I'm not talking about clashing styles of ROB, SOTN and DS trilogy sprites.

But all this are small details that should be overlooked - because IGA creates quality games.  :-X

Skill them up and their whip will be very powerful.   ;D

well yay, Julius has an English voice for the first time.  its kinda interesting that you can make him say "damn!" whenever you feel like in the game.  do the other characters say "damn" when you select "oops"?

ah, the multi-direction whip.  it'll bring back that great Super Castlevania IV feeling.

i'm still waiting to see a Yoko video on YouTube...

With Julius and that classic music pack both out now, I might actually get this game. Damn you Konami.

Julius is fun to play as (8 Direction whippage FTW). Soma and Alucard were great to play as until I got Yatsatsuna and Valmanway. Now everything dies instantly. If I didn't kill it someone else with those weapons would.

Wait, now we get an 8-directional whip that can also latch onto things for platforming? Why was this not done sooner?! Doesn't seem to be implemented very good into the level design, though. (Maybe the 3DS will benefit from this experiment, though).

The addition of voices is a nice touch-up. Although I find the $3.00 price-tag to be a bit too much for my liking, so no thanks.

Btw affinity, how much does Konami's marketing team pay you? ;)

I'm interested in this.

I'm disappointed they didn't come up with "something" for a personal action for Yoko.  I say they should have allowed her to enchant her staff so that it would temporarily give her life whenever she struck something with it.  I don't care how much MP it would take to do that in order not to make it cheap, it's at least a signature ability for her, of which she doesn't have many.

Actually, her selling line was "Manifest as this witch ally of the Belmont clan and inherit the powers of the magic seal!", so I thought they'd give her some strange kind of seal-based ability.
