God forbid they remix some tunes outside of the Metroidvanias. >_>

I mean, if they're going to give Julius some SCIV Simon capabilities, why not?

I want to try this game, but I'd need Xbox Live points to download it. Oh well, X-mas is right around the corner.  ;)

Castlevania HD - Add-Ons: Music Pack 2 - 10th Nov
 :)

okay this sucks.   >.<    Who is responsible for deciding which DLC gets released next???   Is Konami seriously still beta testing the characters from leaked videos since August?  At this rate, there probably won't be new characters/chapters until next year!  And if they do add them this year, it will probably be just one character next month (but if they add a new chapter next month, that could be a good thing.)

I wonder how many supposed Music Packs they have planned?  Once those are out of the way maybe all the DLC afterwards will either be a Chapter or a Character.

All the remixes in this game are pretty bad so I wonder why they even bother with the music.

Maybe you pay for non-remix versions. And that's the reason the remixes were crap to begin with.

It would be a genious masterplan.

Apparently the DLC characters have been on hiatus due some kind of developmental error, similar to the DLC planned for Blazblue: Continuum Shift. Some users are reporting it as a "system failure" of a sort, and I figure it relates to Marketplace guidelines. Konami has posted a bulletin for Japanese users on XBL above it, and they specifically mention Yoko and Julius, so maybe we'll get a date on those soon.

I mean, I don't see why or how Konami would troll people when Julius was supposed to be released August 31st and we're now in fucking November.

Wow that might explain a lot of things!   *puts down conspiracy flag*
This is the first time they've done something like this or Castlevania, so it's understandable that they might have some issues with adding DLC characters for whatever technical or marketplace reason.
It seems like it's something not even Konami expected. But it's good they sound like they are closer to a solution or solved the problem.   At this rate, I wonder if a PS3 version will happen?

Well personally I like the music pack tracks, of course the tracks aren't as great as the originals, but they have a nice vibe to them (kind of like how tracks like Vampire Killer and Bloody Tears sound different in different Castlevania games. can't please all the fans.)

That's what you get for trying to make Maria playable in anything other than her SotN form.

You've been warned.

Has there been any word yet on a possible PSN release?  I know this game is said to be a cash-in.  But it looks like a fun cash-in to me. :D

oh yes it's really REALLY fun!   ;D

I think it's possible for a PSN release, but I think Konami's plan might be to focus on the 360 version and get the DLC done right, and with these recent problems they have been having, it might have delayed their PS3 plans.  But I'm sure there is a good chance Harmony of Despair will be released for PSN after 360 version gets all or most of the planned DLC released for it.

It would be a waste if Konami doesn't sell it on PSN too, because they could make even more sales out of it.

And a Konami employee and IGA himself said that if the 360 version sells good then a PS3 version is likely to happen. As far as I heard, about 70,000 bought Harmony of Despair, which is pretty good for a digital market title.

http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/30301/InDepth_Xbox_Live_Arcade_Sales_Analysis_August_2010.php

and those stats were only counting the single player.  It sold slightly more than Tomb Raider and Scott Pilgrim the first month.

By now, those numbers total are even higher.

Here is a September article:
http://www.planetxbox360.com/article_11798/Xbox_Live_Arcade_Sees_Best_Month_of_Sales_Ever_in_August

"Konami's 'Castlevania: Harmony of Despair' was in second place with 131,000 units sold"

I would say it's pretty successful.   Maybe Konami will announce the PSN version sometime next year after they get their act together to release the rest of the 360 DLC?
